Default Duel in front of Congress

Okay, first, some ground rules. This is to be fought with sword only, and is to be non-lethal. Also, as always, Barry says no God-modding.

Chevalier stands with sword ready, urging Pappas to make the first move.

"I'm going to gut you, like a Cornish Game Hen!"

    Pappas jabbed for Chevalier's stomach.

The prepared Mr. Chevalier parries John Pappas' attack with his own sword.

However, Chevalier's counter-attack falls short, and both combatants have some time and space to make their next move.

Must we continue fighting, John? We are in the same party, this is silly!

Chevalier attempts makes a low cut, going for Pappas' legs, but stops himself.

"However much I hate to admit it, Pappas, you're right. Such fighting is a silly waste of time. I think we can put aside our differences for the greater good, can't we?"

    Fight Fail!

when the union's inspiration through the worker's blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.

Even if it's two respected congressmen about to seriously maim (albeit, not kill) each other in front of the capital building?

Even more so. That's capitalism for you; two men get maimed, a third gets both of their money.

In capitalism, a civil war kills 1/5 of all it's partakers just to keep the southern half ruled over by the northern half.

Every dollar spent or earned for the wrong reasons or by the wrong means once rested in the hands of an evil man, Fred. All people, communist and capitalist alike are capable of being that man.
Now, please, I don't think you want to get into this, not here.
