    Default Odd feedback from EDB Validator

    I've been playing around with HouseOfHam's EDB validator version 1.2.1 to stamp out all the possible glitches in my personal modification for RTW 1.5, although I've ran into a strange snag, here is the message.

    "Error parsing line 2555: Missing the closing right curly brace after the building tag."

    After looking through my EDB file, I could not find the missing brace anywhere, as the number of right braces are exactly the same as in the left. Hopefully someone can find out what is wrong with the file as it may be linked to the game stopping errorless CTD I've been having lately (Crash after twenty turns on AI turn).

    I think its safe to say that if you were indeed missing a curly, the game wouldn't load.

    Please post the following files:
    - text\export_buildings.txt
    - export_descr_buildings.txt
    - export_descr_unit.txt
    - descr_cultures.txt
    - descr_sm_factions.txt
    - descr_beliefs.txt (RTW, if present) / descr_religions.txt (MTW2)

    Btw, this error refers to your export_buildings.txt (the message before that should clearly state "Reading export_buildings.txt"). You probably have ] instead of } somewhere.

    The game would still load, but you'd get a CTD if you tried to open the info card for that building.

    Ok, here they are then. I have not activated religions, so there's no descr_beliefs.txt. Also the export_buildings.txt has to be compressed otherwise it cannot be uploaded!

    Come to think of it, the twenty turn crash on AI turn did not occur before I give the Carthaginian factions (Carthage and Numidia) the pantheon level temples (Baal, Tanit, Milqart). Could a badly coded building generate the error?

    Edit 1: Just corrected line 2555 in export_buildings.txt. You are right, the error is here. I've updated the uploaded files to reflect the changes made. Now I'll see if I can go on to correct the rest of the bugs and see if the twenty turns crash still occurs. Cheers!

    Edit 2: Nope, the errorless crash on AI Carthage's turn still occurs as usual, I'll try to start another campaign with a fresh map.rwm to see if that fixes it. But that belongs in another thread.

    Edit 3: Generating another map.rwm doesn't fix it... Not good...

    Edit 4: Started another thread but there's no help. Files removed.

    Edit 5: Bug fixed. This topic should be closed.
