Default .luac & a curse + NEW QUESTION on cdir

    What are .luac files?
    What is their purpose?
    How are they opened/read?

Apply the same questions to .lua
Apparently, the .lua can be opened with PFM and are somewhat explanitory.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Oh yes....a curse be upon any who use .bin files. What the do I do with them?
Aside from drop them in the data folder and let them do their thing.

    >>>NEW QUESTION<<<

In the db what is cdir?
    e.g., cdir_unit_tables
    (p.s. - I don't need a definition of tables.)

Luac files are compiled lua files.Lua is the scripting language used in NTW.Some of the Luac files have been successfully decompiled i have managed this myself but it is a bit of pain full of trial and error and messing around with the decompilers source code to get it to be able to decompile the things.Hope this answers your question for you.

Here is a link if you want to dive in and try it for yourself.

It's a decent answer and gives more information than I had. Thank you.

Guys, this was only true until today afternoon, luadec patch is available today, it works on 95% of ETW .luac files,
will most likely work with NTW as well.
