    Default The Fall of Jerusalem

This if my First AAR, and Im new to this stuff any suggestions etc would be good. It is not historically based or anything like that.

    1.0 The Uprising

In the year of 1180, an uprising led by Salah Al Din in Fatimid Egypt
succeeded and the Fatimids were defeated. The people were astonished by Salah Al Din, And asked him to become their new leader, But Salah Al Din replied

'I will not lead this Nation until it changes its ways of Shia'sm to the Sunnah of the Prophet.'

After some consideration, the people were convinced by the fact that they will need a protector against the invading Christians and they were also astonished by his leadership, So they all converted in the period of a night. The people of Egypt changed their ways and Salah Al Din made him self the new Caliph of the Muslim Ummah.

    1.1 The Conquest of Medina

The first thing Salah Al Din directed his eyes towards was Medina, the town of the blessed Prophet. If he could conquer Medina he would convince more Muslims to join his cause, and if people are to take his Caliphhood seriously he would need Medina. He would also be able to persuade Scholars from Medina to join his cause.

Therefore he ordered his brother Turanshah to conquer Medina.
Turanshah mobilized from the town of Tayma 46 mounted soldiers, and 150 spearmen and hired another 100 mounted archers on his way to Medina.

Salah Al Din had ordered his brother to siege Medina to avoid Muslim blood to be spilled, and to not spill blood in this holy town.
The defenders of Medina were given the Message to submit but they rejected.

After two years the Defenders sallied towards us, Which lead to the Battle for Medina.

Turanshah placed his spearmen infront of his Mounted Archers whom would pound arrows upon the enemy while the Spearmen block the enemy from reaching the Archers. Then Turanshah would with his Cavalry flank the enemy from behind and cause the enemy to Surrender to avoid Muslim bloodsheed. Turanshah managed well and the Defenders surrended and Medina was in Salah Al Din's control.

    1.2 Al-Jihad Has been Declared

Upon the year of 1183 Salah Al Din whom had the policy to unite the Muslims before even fighting a single Crusader, Had to change Policy due to the fact that the Abbassid Caliphate was attacked by the Crusaders. This was the perfect time to payback for the Christian massacre of Muslims and Jews, and reclaim Jerusalem from the disgrace that is the Crusaders. Even though the Muslim Ummah was in a weak state at that moment, Salah Al Din attacked without hesitation.

Salah Al Din whom had prepared for a siege to avoid blodshed had to change plans, The Crusaders had reinforcements and attacked.

    vs

Salah Al Din set up a strategy with his other General to divide the Cavalry into 2 forces, Whom would flank the enemy from 2 different direction from the back, While the Mounted Archers harass their cavalry.

The victory in the Battle for Jaffa was a great victory which boosted the Morale and hope for Muslims around the world where the Crusaders finally were attacked and defeated. Those captured, Were all to be executed for their sins of Massacre commited against Muslims and Jews, But they were given the choice to convert and live among the Muslims, Only few accepted. The Mosques were also rebuilt in Jaffa.

    2.0 Greed

In the year of 1184 war continued, and a map of our Caliphate was finished.

When news reached Damascus of war being waged against the Christians, Ibrahim and his brother Shahanshah had an an army of 24 mounted fighters and 225 spearmen swiftly assembled and ordered a march against the town of Baalbek where an Crusader army was marching south to reinforce the Christian armies to retake Jaffa. 'This is our time for Victory, And if not, then martyrdom' had Ibrahim said. The plan went as expected, the army without a general was ambushed, Forcing the few men and governor of Baalbek to leave the town undefended.

The enemy were quickly defeated and when the governor John De Ibelin arrived, his army had already been defeated, Which led to that he fled back to Baalbek, managing to lock the gates, calling upon nearby troops.

The army of Ibrahim had no chance to reorganize, and was attacked by another army, which was much larger and fresh. It was said that they fought to the last man, killing many of the Crusaders. Verily, Even if they lost the battle, Ibrahim and his armies were the victors, victors of martyrdom insha'allah.

This event shocked Salah Al Din, that they without permission attacked, and caused a great danger upon Damascus and Homs, Leaving the towns without governorship.

    2.1 Jerusalem And Kerak

After eight years and many skirmishes, Salah Al Din ordered the besiegement of Kerak and Jerusalem which were at this time weakly defended.

    Kerak

Al Kamil, the Caliph's brother and governor of Aqaba assembled 12 mounted swordsmen, 100 mounted archers and 72 spearmen.

Al Kamil quickly reached Kerak and besieged the castle, and suprisingly the Crusaders marched towards us, leaving their walls. This lead to the battle for Kerak.

Among the captured, were a large number of Templars. When these news reached Al Kamil he ordered the one with highest authority of them to be sent to him swiftly. Al Kamil whom had heard gossip from peasants, that the Templars had commited sodomy and other highly unrespectable acts wanted to interrogate the Templars, and so he did. They rejected these accusations but due to the fact that these templars had slayed Muslim and Jewish women and children they were all executed. The Banners of Shahada now wave upon the castle of Karek.

    Jerusalem

Salah Al Din started to reach an old age, and started to get worried over the fact that Al-Aqsa was in the hand of the Infidels. He saw the perfect opportunity now when the road to Jerusalem was clear, And he took his chance and besieged the Holy town.
He assembled 119 mounted fighters, 89 mounted archers, 265 footmen and 3 Generals.

The Christians in Jerusalem whom feared retribution for the actions commited when the Crusaders captured Jerusalem took arms which increased the size of the defenders, An reinforcement of another 400 men also arrived, which made the enemy numbers 911 in total.
This led to the Battle for Al-Aqsa where the enemies attacked us. In this battle Salah Al Din used similar tactics to those been used before, he split the cavalry into 2 groups whom would flank, while the mounted archers harass the enemies best units.

It is said that in the battle for Al-Aqsa the crusaders were confident of victory due to their larger number of men and stormed the armies of the Caliphate. And when they least expected, it arrows blackened the Sun and a vast force of Cavalry whom were chanting the Takbir striked their back hard and caused a great demoralization among the Crusaders which caused most of them to surrender.

Salah Al Din declared that only those Crusaders whom had part in Massacres would be executed, and the peasants that had fought against us would be given amnesty. The christian population of Jerusalem feared retribution, but they were all spared, For verily we are the righteous.

The first thing Salah Al Din done was to march together with the 3 other generals to Al-Aqsa and clear it of the filth that the Crusaders put there and restored the place. Salah Al Din also ordered the so called ''True Cross'' to be taken down. This cross was dragged around the streets and clubbed and spat upon for several days.
    Al-Aqsa has been Liberated.

It is supposed to offend, I think. People know little about history. Refering to 'the massacres of the Crusaders'... I take it he means the conquest of Jerusalem in 1099. After reading 'Road to Manzikert' by Brian Todd one realizes sacking a city was far from uncommon, especially if the city resisted instead of surrendered. There are many examples of cities that were completly destroyed, also by Moslim armies, like Ani in 1064 and other Christian cities in Armenia and Georgia in that period.

But it is pointless to explain that to people who only believe in hate.

    Pretty lousy AAR too btw.
