I have some minor problems

Hi guys! I'm new to this game and forum so I don't know if some were done purposely.
Problem #
1. When I choose to flee my general dies.

2.When a play sparta and some other factions some generals are not in the family tree.

3 I am lagging not in the battles but on the strategy part. I click something to recruit and it takes 2 seconds to do it.

Been a while since I played RTW (reinstalling just for RSII ), but...

1. Sometimes you cannot flee from battle, especially if you've already done so once. Normally, you'll get a skull symbol on the campaign map battle alert parchment letting you know that if you retreat this time round, your army will be destroyed. You might also not get a chance to retreat at all as there are times when you will be boxed in without any avenue of escape.

2. Not all generals are family members, and unless they are a man of the hour or adopted (not entirely certain on this, maybe someone can confirm or disprove?), they won't appear in the family tree.

3. Not sure about this one, it's likely software/hardware related. I'll let someone else answer it.

2)yes...not all of them are family members...if you want a general to become a family member, let him fight a lot of battles until he gets adopted...

3)its got something to do with specs of your PC (graphics cards, RAM, processor speed)

2) My understanding is that there may well be more than one family tree in operation. However, due to the limitations of the RTW engine only one family tree can be shown at a time. The other comments about generals not being in the family tree is also valid. The general needs to be adopted in order for this to happen - you will get a pop-up at the start of the round asking you to accept/deny the adoption. I think a 'man of the hour' relate to a captain wining a battle (OI may be wrong) - if the number of family members drops then these can happen regularly. Also the game attempts to balance the number of regions you hold against the number of family members (not 1:1) and you will get more adoptions and 'man of the hour' events.....

3) With slow campaign map compared to strategy map there are two things to try (1) don't run in windowed mode - I found that the whole game for me just slowed down (2) If you use a wireless mouse I'd investigate that as the source of the problem as they have been known to have issues.

I'm using a wireless mouse...
though i haven't experienced anything like a "slow" campaign map...

Yeah i have question about mouse pointer .It has some kind of slow movement compared to medieval etc...Why?

Update your video card driver, mate. I had the same problem but after updated the strategy map ran smoother.

I've seen (and had) this issue before. It is likely due to your mouse, or the software that drives your mouse. Go into 'mouse properties' and experiment with settings in there (faster movement, etc.). If you are using a wireless mouse, make sure the batteries are new. Weak batteries will cause sluggish mouse performance. A very cheap mouse mouse can also cause problems....you pretty much get what you pay for. Also make sure you don't have a lot of other 'things' running during the game (like a virus program scanning while you play).

You have only 1 gb of RAM or I didn't read it right? maybe that's the problem.

Maybe but I said,i havent experienced this problem with medieval 2 TW

I googled and found that im not only one .There are many solution like changing speed on control panel i windows or increasing this:

Thing is RS 2 is far more demanding than MTW2.

Its not really lookin that more demands but compare to vanilla its

Well MTW2 is an updated engine that is more optimized for newer computer and thus RS 2 is more demanding as it run on the RTW engine.
