custom battles not working...

so, i installed roma surrectum, and pretty much everything works fine (campaign, historical battles, etc.) but whenever i try to set up a custom battle, it returns to the faction selection screen when i click start. i'm using vista, btw, and no steam. also, i'm using vanilla RTW.exe.

If you want to have a custom battle I suggets that you start the game with the 'Play Battle' option rather than a faction specific or 1 turn option.

I've been using that for thw custom battles I've been doing.

I've just try it, and works fine. I've chosen at launcher: Battles Only, than single player, custom battle, rome vs carthage and it's ok.

edit: I'm using vista too, no steam but BI.

Yes, I've done that with RTW Alex and RTW BI.

There is sth little but just to know...
When I click on second '?' auto choose an army, and icon of horse archers is missing, if I alt+tab and return it's ok(icon shows, everything is good), but switch to carthage one of their units is the same(missing icon).

It's the engine that isn't capable to handle all the new units.

Same problem except using steam widow 7 32 bit and thanks for the mod played a little on the rome campaign
and its just great

i chose "battles only" on the launcher. i tried multiple different times with a bunch of different units, and even tried just 1 unit vs 1 unit (bear warriors vs pezhetairoi) and it still woudn't work

Is the "mutiplayer" in the launcher working in custom battles?

In the launcher, where you select campaign, you will find something called "Multiplayer" at the bottom. Run the game with this, and try to do a custom battle.

I am going to jump in here too if you don't mind. I can't buy a General unit, it's not in the menu. However when I let the PC purchase one appears.

Any help would be appreciated.

Units were removed from being recruited in CB by using an option in the EDU, maybe the computer don't read this, or something?

Everything else is working fine. Historical battles worked two.
