whats the best mods for SS 6.4 at the moment?
"It's not always possible to do what we want to do, but it's important to believe in something before you actually do it"
historical buildings mod, SH's Map Submod, and soon to be released the stainless steel historical characters project
hi i want to ask which is the best sub-mod to play as the byzantines in SS 6.4
i think that the byzantines are already focused and expanded upon enough in 6.4, since the mod does kinda focus on it with unique traits and that
is there any sub-mod that contains bulgaria or serbia???
a serbia sub mod is currently in devolpment and is progressing quite fast, it should be on the first or 2nd page of the submod thread
ok thank u
Anybody knows about some mod that reduce the "random factor" on faction attacks ?
You know.. It is really annoying watch Castille and Portugal give up their fight with the Moors while they invade (god's knows why) England and Walles.
Not to mention the Scots at Belgium and Genoa at the whole world..
It seems that Soulson enhanced AI mod can correct this "problem", but i don't know if it is compatible with SS 6.4 (BGR and RR) and Meneth sub-mods..
Thanks in advance !
I bet it is!
But you could make this changes by yourself => data/sm_factions.txt ( I never remember the exact files´ names but you will find it easily.. look for "sm" and "factions" )
This file has an entry for every faction called "prefers naval invasions". Change that to "no" and they will start wars on land instead of sailing somewhere!
The second file is "data/campaignai.db" ( or something like that... if sorted alphabetically it is one of the first ones... can be found easily too ).
This is a bit more complicated but very logical! Above every entry there is an explanation what it does!
PS: Scotland going to belgium and genoa having colonies is historically accurate... that is why "they" did implement it... I think.
Well, thanks A LOT ! I don't feel very confortable "tweeking" like that, but it does look more simple than i expect ! I'll try.
About the Scots at Belgium, i never heard of that.. Although i'm Brazilian.. So it's natural that some minor events of european history (no offense, Scottish folks, really !) pass uncommented. But yes, i've heard of Genoese's "colonies" at Caffa and even at Sudan, but it's weird when they conquer half France and half Holy Roman Empire lol; but still a minor problem.
Is there a sub mod that has a start date around 1340? I want to fight the 100 years war but don't want to wait for 200 turns to get there.

How about Additionl Units for The Teutonic Order? I think they need some additional heavy infantry units. for example Chivalric brother knights Attachment 197436 in teutons texture of course . I could do it on my own but my modelling and texturing knowledge its still far from perfect
IS there like a late period campaign? 15th century?
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

Is there any mod centered about family and diplomacy management?
I am thinking about a mod where you don't have to:
- hunt for a suitable princess with your diplomat so you get your heir properly married
- travel half world with your princess to marry her with your favorite general
- suffer your old, ugly and stupid princesses while AI gets the superb ones
- suffer stupid, incompetent and insane heirs to the throne cos' the game says so
But rather you are possibly able to:
- check up other faction's family trees
- get info about new princes availability
- arrange marriages that have lasting impact on relations ("would ya assault yer grandpa?")
- get princesses ranked on basis of their importance and capabilities
- do a little bit eugenics to rise superhuman heirs to your throne
- dominate the world's politics through intrigue rather than relying on brute force only
I wouldn't even dream of something like:
- creating dependencies (vassal principalities)
- installing your family members as leaders of defeated factions (vassal)
I don't like the economy but I like the RPG.
All of it? Hard coded stuff? Damn
are there any submods that add in more in depth and accurate family trees?
