Hi guys, im sorry if someone in Staff or any other forum has already sujested this but i think it may resolve our little spam problem. Most of the spam in the RTW forum is caused by these newbies. One way to resolve this is by doing what the org do and have an entrance hall. this will stop the spam from entering the RTW foum. Only the worthy members would then be allowed into the main forums. All the newbies could also swear an oath, sayin they will not post about the demo or release date. This is just my point of view on the matter and i wanted to make you guys awear of this so we can crak the spam down. Hope this helps.

but such a forum would require a moderator who was prepared to sit and read through post after post of spam, seeking the good from the bad, and giving their names for promotion...


such a job is time consuming, and no sane mod would really want the job, though i personally would be willing to help, though not do it by myself.

i don'tr think such a forum has a place in TWC however.

As we are finding even civitates can spam, and it is quite unacceptable. The staff is quite aware that Spam presents a clear and present danger to this forum, and are at this moment planning measures to stop its spread.

I hate the entrance hall at the org and do not belive we should enact it. Our spam level is not too bad compared to many forums that I have visited. Unfortuantely, once RTW comes out, it will be a different story...

A good point, and I agree with everyone who dislikes an entrance hall. It would only serve as a concentrated spam forum.

Entrance hall or not is a matter of simple phylosophy. It goes like this:

Entrance hall: You are proven guilty until you prove you're innocent

No entrance hall: You are innocent until proven guilty.

Now we just have to decide what kind of trend do we want to follow for TWC.

Let's turn it around: create a public stand; a place on the forum in which people get penalised for all to see (but only for mods to write in).

1. Visitors see what penalties different behaviour can have.

2. Some potential evil-do'ers will be be deterred (sp)

3. Good forumnites can have a laugh at your cinical comments

4. More clarity instead of siltently raising warning levels (which cannot be seen by others) and pms.

5. Creates a buzz.

5. You can give the public stand a cool name.
