I figured this was the best thread in which to post my naval "research" imagery. Yesterday I visited the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard (well worth a days visit) and besides the exhibitions visited both Ironclad HMS Warrior from 1860 and a guided tour onboard HMS Victory and managed to take a number of images that I would like to share with anyone interested. Photographing onboard HMS Victory wasn't allowed though

For more information regarding the dockyard use this link: http://www.historicdockyard.co.uk/

HMS Warrior images can be downloaded here and HMS Victory images here. Samples attached this post.

    Added to the Uniforms section:

    Austria:
http://vd18-proto.bibliothek.uni-halle.de/de-slub-vd18/content/pageview/8917751 Geschichte und bildliche Darstellung der Regimenter des Erzhauses Oesterreich. Wien: Reilly,1796. (from the Digitale Bibliothek deutscher Drucke des 18. Jahrhunderts) - covers the Austrian Army 1796

    Prussia:

Some examples from (Austrians in top row; Prussians in bottom row)

Unfortunately it is not possible to download the plates in one go - you have to download them one at a time, a lengthy process but worth it
