Are you playing any mod? IF your playing the original RTW than I would suggest the gauls or the germans. they both have good infantry and the gauls have the foresters (excellent archers).I f you don't want a barbarian faction than go with one of the greek factions.Originally Posted by Slimshoom

if you really like using infantry i think a good choice would be carthage also. because carthage has lilybaeum on sicily you have to fight early and hard to hoold onto your territory. being early you dont have access to higher up troops and cavelry. plus you will probably end up fighting on italy at some point and you will need to use infantry head-to-head eith the legions while you can outflank them with cavelry
or, even better, download SPQR and play any of the roman factions. Serious mayhem will ensue.......

Go for the Seleucids. Many elite infantry units.
