    Yes, this game is kinda old. But you know what? I like it. Far more than its successor. As such, i decided to write an RP AAR based on a map I created. The map was reandomly generated, but I edited three systems. The first reflects our solar system. It includes all the planets, plus many of their moons. It also includes many of the transneptunian objects. The second system is similar to ours, but is based on the Sumerian mythology. The third is the same, but based on the Norse mythology. To create the latter two, I made a series of charts, and assigned each outcome a number. I then rolled dice and consulted my charts. This map gives me, the player, a huge unfair advantage, due to the amount of planets in these systems, and also the fact that they are not connected to any other system. Please do not comment on this, I am aware of it.

    The Story: In the year 2372, a derelict alien warship crashed onto Earth. This forced the governments of Earth to declare peace and join together. The United Earth Confederation was born. The scientists worked together to disassemble the alien craft, gleaning many advancements to their own technology in the process. Meanwhile, in 2380, a probe through the solar system revealed ancient ruins on mars. A colony was immediately planned. In 2387, the colony ship Homefront was sent to Mars. It was determined that this colony would be the Confederations first Forge World, as the ruins were revealed to be mainly construction facilities. The scientists, as of yet, have not determined where the alien spacecraft, now named The Brokenback, arrived from.

    And there it begins.

    2. As this is going to primarily be a story, I will be doing things that may seem stupid. This may or may not be on purpose. Bare with me.
    3. This is my second attempt at an AAR. The first is going on at paradoxplaza. If you have any suggestions, I would be more than happy to hear them.

    2400.8 = Scientists develop techniques for building scout ships (SC)
    The first Terra colony ship is built. Colonists are loaded up and the ship is sent to Mercury, a rock-oxy planets, covered in ancient ruins. Mercury is slotted to be used as a Research coumpound by the ORD
    ONI publishes that the mysterious alien race is to be known as The Nazca.
    Continued surveys in Sumer reveal that the ruins on the planets in the system are of a second, unknown race. This one is to be known as the Iconians.
    Upon reaching sector 4.1 of the Sumer sytem, Survey Flotilla detects another gravitic disturbance. The flotilla enters and is whisked away to a new star system, named Aesir.



    Many planets in this system also appear to contain ruins. This race is distinct from the first two, to be named The Aesir.
    Discoveries from the ruins on Mars and Mercury reveal that The Nazca share similarities to humans.

    LOL! It's kind of an old game. And it really is complicated. Lots of micromanagement. Ships are designed from the ground up. Each planet gets a number of facilities that you pick. If you don't like micromanagement, you may not like it. But it IS a lot of fun. And as for taking it back by force: you got it. marines will be landing in a few turns.

The goal, is for the Icarus' to screen our assault shuttles. once the Orcas get in orbit, we will be dropped onto the surface. You are authorized to shoot anything that puts up a fight. Ok, boys.     "SIR! We detect missile launch from the planet! 4 capital missiles headed straight for us."



    "Order the fleet to take evasive action. Protect the transports. If that means taking a hit to prevent them from taking one, do it."

    "Aye sir. Sir, we are within striking distance of the planet"

    "Order all ships withing range to fire. Hopefully we can take out those TWP 1s." Replied Vincent.

    "BRACE FOR IMPACT!" The rating yells as the Martian missiles close. "Sir! PS-SC Icarus 03 Bellerophon just took two direct hits. We have a Code Omega."

    "Acknowledged. Continue on course to Mars. If the rest of the fighters attack, show them no mercy. We will avenge our brothers."



    "Yes, Admiral."

    "Sir, Com from General Keno on Mars." "Patch it through."

    "Admiral, our first wave ground forces seem to have quelled all rebellion. One we took out 6 of their militia regiments, the rest gave up and showed the white flag. We are in the process of finding the 'Sol Society government'. Once found, we will have them executed for executing a revolt, as per orders of the Chief of Staff. Thanks for the escort. Keno out."



    Admiral Janacek turned towards the com officer. "Lieutenant Spears, open a channel to all ships. This is the Admiral. Our mission is complete. The ground forces landed, and took out the militia. Good work on protecting the transports. Unfortunately, we lost the Bellerophon. Her sacrifice to protect the transports will never be forgotten. Tonight, we celebrate in her honor.     -Right before the recapture of Mars, the so-called Sol Society transmitted a message to the President. "We shall fight you on the moons, and on the planets.     -The ruins of Jormungandr yield advances in Troop Weapons and Biological Weapons.
    -Scientists with the ORD announce today that the three unknown races (The Nzca, Iconians, and Aesir) were related. They all were evolved from the same species. The other significant fact, was they all share DNA with humans. What this means is still unknown.
    -SF 1 continues on it's survey mission.
    -MLF is on orders to stand sentry over Mars until it is known that the population won't revolt again. Transports resume population transport throughout the Confederacy.
    (I'm going to use the fast build cheat for the next few turns, as i need the resource gatherers completed asap. i mentioned before i suck at the economics, and it's true. I have apparently overextended myself. so for the next... 5 turns ill be using fast build. hopefully with a few colonizers i can start mining planets, and i can get some more remote mining platforms up and running.)

    -SP Extractor 0002 ran into space raiders. Winning the firefight, the ship's battle experience improves. (how? they have no weapons to fend pirates off with. lol)
    -As Survey Flotilla 2 enters the Dardanos system, they encounter a new race: The Cryslonite Empire.

    It was just another first transit for Survey Flotilla 2. Commodore Rudolph Cantonelli yawned. It was almost time for a watch change. “ Lieutenant Sanders, send out the orders to proceed through the warp point. Let's find out where this goes.” The com officer relayed the orders. As the ship transited the warp point, the crew felt the customary queasiness associated with gravitic surges.


    “CONTACT!” The ops officer, Ensign Rogers yelled. “We are detecting energy emissions coming from 2 of the planets, marked as Planet I and Planet II. The emissions are of unknown origin.”
    Cantonelli sat bolt upright, all fatigue evaporated.


    “Sound general quarters. Tac, get a passive weapons lock on nearest bogey. Com, try to raise the Unknowns on any frequency. Patch me through if they respond. Nav, slow the flotilla, we don't want to get any closer to those emissions.”


    A chorus of ayes sounded on the bridge as the crew scrambled to obey orders. The klaxon of general quarters alarms sounded through the ship. On the holosphere unknown ships could be seen leaving planetary orbit and heading toward the Aristarchus. As all this was happening, the remaining ships of the flotilla came through the warp point one by one. The ships went to general quarters as soon as they emerged, getting passive locks on the closest bogeys.


    “Sir, the Unknowns are responding to our hail. Patching through now.” The com officer started the automatic translation software. The software would make all efforts to translate new languages, based on complex algorithms, and the longer someone/thing spoke, the more it would translate.


    “Greetings. I am Commodore Rudolph Cantonelli, Cammander of Survey Flotilla 2 of the United Earth Navy. We have no desire to engage in hostilities with you. We are a peaceful species on an exploration mission. What is your name?”


    The being onscreen was a mass of crystalline appendages. How it moved was as of yet a mystery. It looked offscreen for a second, then turned back to the pickup. “Greetings Commodore. I am Captain Kryhl of the Cryslonite Navy. We will stand our ships down if you remove the weapons locks you have on our ships.” Cantonelli was surprised they were able to detect the weapons lock. “If you would like, we will send a shuttle and bring you aboard where we can talk further.”


    “That is agreeable, if you allow me to bring a few crew members and security personnel. It is standard operating procedure for our navy, and not meant as an insult to you. I hope you understand.”


    “Understood. We are sending a shuttle now. Kryhl out.”

    Yeah see I use to games like the Total War series, CNC series, and all sorts of other RTS games
    so to me this looks incredibly hard to manage... so if I ever do try to play this I'd probably use loads of cheats...


    but Good you put the traitors to justice...

    as for this new Alien race... lets hope their peaceful

    2405.1 = New advances in Combat Support.
    *2 Dilmun-class colonizers completed. They are sent to colonize: Titan as a resource colony, and Ixion as a resource colony
    *The cryslonite empire turns down the non-agression pact. A member of the ambassador corps arrives in Dardanos, and proposes a non-intercourse treaty.
    *Iconian ruins on Ur lead to advances in Revitalizing technology and Satellites.
    *The colonizer arrives at Jamesmcdonell I. It is renamed Franos.

    2405.2 = ORD finds new applications in Carier Construction
    *2 midgaard-class colonizers are built. They are sent to colonize: Jamesmcdanell V as a farming colony, and Anhalt VI as a Forge World.
    *The Cryslonite Imperium has declined a non-aggression pact with us. Our ambassador is attempting for a non-intercourse agreement.
    *The ruins on titan reveal ancient secrets of Planetary Weapons, Weapons Platforms, and Temporal Technology. The Hephaestus Shipyard design is upgraded with the new temporal spaceyard.
    *SF 1 enters the Lucina system. In it is a Massive Black Hole. SF 1 determines they have enough engine speed to make it through the sysem to the next warp point. They make it through and enter the Anhalt system. It contains 5 planets with an oxygen atmosphere and 2 planets with ancient ruins, one of which is oxygen. The system's only other warp point connects it to Bacanagad. It is decided that this system is highly defensible, and plans are made to colonize a Forge World, a Training Facility, and a Naval Base.
    *SF 2 enters the Nakamura system. It detects more Cryslonite planets. Avoiding these, they enter the nearest warp point. Upon arrival in the Mikhel'son System , they find more Cryslonite Planets.
    *In the event of interstellar war, the ORD designs it's first drone launching Arsenal Ship - the ADS-LFF Hyperion, along with the TASD(F)-TD Freedom and TASD(F)-TD Liberty. Construction begins on 2 of the Arsenal Ships. Construction also begins on the first CV(A)-CVT Jesrey.
    *The Mars Liberation Fleet is sent to Aro for sentry duty.

    “Sir, these Cryslonites are acting strange. They are heading right towards us.”


    “Put it on screen.” Replied Commodore Cantonelli. The display suddenly lit up. 3 of the weird ships that the cryslonites apparently use as scouts were on a direct course for Survey Flotilla 2. “All ships sound general quarters. Relay to all Captains that we will NOT fire unless fired upon first. Maintain positions. Try to raise the Cryslonites so we can figure this out.”



    “Aye, sir.”


    Cantonelli thought about this. There was no reason for those ship to be heading right for them, other than to attack. He hoped he was wrong, but he didn't think so. The commodore calmly lit up a cigar and watched as they came closer. He would do this by the book. Protocol dictated that he could not fire first unless he felt the safety of his crews was in danger. He would have to wait until they fired, which would almost certainly cost him a ship or two. Damn those asses back at Survey Command. Hopefully they would realize they needed to dispatch a few gunslingers with the flotillas now.



    “Has there been any response to our hails, ensign?”


    “No, sir.” came the response. “Acknowleged. Keep trying.” Cantonelli said as he put on his vac suit and locked the shock frame of his chair. He took another puff on the cigar.


    Another 5 minutes passed, with the crystalline ships only getting closer. “Sir, we are getting a response to our hails.”


    “Patch it through. This is Commodore~” Rudolph was cutoff mid-sentence. “It has been decided by the Cryslonite High Command that the biological reek of the human virus must be expunged from the galaxy. You will be destroyed.” The comm abruptly cut off.



    “RAISE SHIELDS! CHARGE ALL WEAPONS! SEND A COURIER DRONE BACK TO THE NEAREST FRIENDLY SYSTEM!” The commodore started shouting orders. The deck crew scrambled to obey. He knew the same was happening on the other 3 ships of the flotilla. He also knew his men would do their best to fight off this threat. He was proud. But he also knew odds were they wouldn't survive. “Let's close with those bastards. Launch our missiles.”


    “Sir, they havn't~” “It doesn't matter anymore. They have issued a threat to our entire race. That is as good as firing the first shot. We will not sit by as they pound us into dust, the book be damned.”



    The enemy closed ranks and fired. 20 anti-proton beams lashed through the hull of the Aristarchus. Miraculously, she survived. The bridge was hit by the first hit. Commodore Rudolph Cantonelli died when the beam ripped straight through his body. The ship lost almost all of her engines, half of her supplies were irradiated and leaking into space. Her missile tubes and one of her uranium cannons were mangled. But the remaining crew fought like hell. She put one shot into the closet cryslonite ship. The shot was perfect. The depleted uranium 'bullet' ripped down the center of the enemy ship. It took out life support and crew quarters. It annihilated 2 of the anti-proton beams. The ship was almost dead. But it could still fight. Suddenly, the ship veered to the side and headed straight for the undamaged enemy vessel. The UESC Aristarchus must of taken the cryslonites by surprise as they didn't even go into evasive maneuvers. The Aristarchus hit head on. It rent trhough armored hull and the crystal ship could be seen streaming atmosphere and unlucky crewmembers. But it survived the hit.



    The remaining ships of the fleet pulled back from the enemy, trying to get out of range of the cryslonites' energy weapons. They knew from reports that one had no offensive capability left. That was the one the Aristarchus fired her missiles at. Another had minimal engines. The other was damaged, but as yet it could not be determined how badly.



    After evading quickly, they flotilla found the enemy had badly damamged engines. They could evade and break off. But they were deep in enemy space. They would never make it home. So they swung back around and fired at close range on the ships. They would do as much damage as they could before being destroyed.


    Castelli took a hit to her engines and fired back at the enemy. Her shot hit the cryslonite power plant and the enemy vessel went up in the glorious light that is a antimatter engine blowing it's top. One second it was a space ship, the next it was a star.



    The kepler and copernicus also fired. They managed to strike heavy blows on the only combat effective enemy ship left. It was no longer very combat effective. The enemy was down to 1 anti-proton beam. It fired upon the Kepler and detroyed her depleted uranium cannon. The kepler now had no offensive capabilty and started to retreat. The Castelli and Copernicus took up the slack. The enemy was all but destroyed. The cryslonite ships no longer had weapons. One had no crew and was just a hulk. It didn't matter. Survey Flotilla 2 wanted vengeance for the death of Commodore Rudolph Cantonelli.

    2405.3 = Census thefts of the Cryslonite empire reveal they span 16 star systems, containing 47 planets and has a populationm of 9373M.
    Scientists achieve new advances in Industry.
    Talks between the UEC and Crysolonite Imperium have almost broken down. The Cryslonites do not claim responsibility for the attack on SF 2. They claim it was an attack made by a rebel faction within their populace who want to see any organic life wiped from space. Nevertheless, SF 2 is ordered home for repairs and reinforcements, and the rest of the Confederation's industrial capacity is engaged in building ships for defense of it's own systems.

    2405.4 = Weapons researchers have improved the capabilities of our Missile Weapons.
    The first Synthetic Lifeform Plant is constructed on Parmenio. The human citizens are split on the issue of cloning. Because of this, General Directive 1 is put in place. General Directive 1 states "All citizens currently, and in the future, of the United Earth Confederacy are required to give DNA to the newly appointed Cloning Comittee. This DNA will be entered into their computer databases. Cloning facilities will take two random samples from this database to create one clone. Therefore, every clone will be a unique individual. All clones will be given the same rights as any other human. This includes life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness. They will not be used as slaves, but will be given any job they wish and are qualified for, just like a natural human." This new directive ensures that the anti-cloning citizens are appeased, and that the population and workforce of the UEC continues to expand.
    AS(S)-LFF London II 01 UEN Redbridge is constructed by Blackbird.
    CV(A)-CVT Jersey 01 UEN Jersey is constructed by Euthenia
    Eucleia has finished construction on ADS-LFF Hyperion 01 Hyperion.

    A message arrives from the Cryslonites. They have indeed declared war on the Confederacy. All ship construction yards are set to produce ships and troops. they newly constructed Redbridge, Jersey and Hyperion are all sent to join the MLF in Aro, there to proceed to the cryslonite homeworld.
    All mothballed ships/bases are brought online.
    Ruins found beneath the surface of Europe give insight into Resupply technology.
