    Here I just want to ask you for suggestions, everyone can post his suggestions here.

    Well, my suggestions are
    1. To create a voice mod (I suggest that also in the main Hegemonia forums), you know to speak ancient greeks, or even better every city to speak its dialect Dorian(Sparta, Argos....), Ioanian(Athens....), I know this is difficult but it's a good idea, you can release it as seperate pack for you mod.
    2. To create GLOSS files for the units, they will look amazing, but I am not sure that the copper was glint but you can add GLOSS to the swords, spears

    That's my suggestions.

    And I want to ask you something, are you able to make the units have spear for primary weapon and sword for secondary? Will we be able to change during the battle, pressing the Shift and then attack?

    I think shield wall only allows us to have one weapon so majority of hoplites will cary a spear and some special ones like the Thespian will carry a sword.

    I have a few suggestions:-

    1. can each faction have its own winning goals to win the game(if thats possible)?
    2.Generals and captains to have a trait overhal and for them to have new kinds of traits?
    3. Maybe some important history figures ie generals or captains?
    4. new buildings
    5. make it longer to aquire new units(thus making the game more harder and more rewarding when you obtain new units)
    6. A new music mod
    7. A new website? a proper one? I would be willing to help with that if you so wish... being a web designer I offer my services :wink:

    maybe later as addon, but firstly we havent time on it and made glosss only for some "special units" isnt good...all or nothing. Secondly BI is VERY bad optimalized and BIG performence eater...so gloss arent our priority

    - and my personal opinion is as you said...copper wasnt always glint, we can mabe made full gloss (helmet, armor...) for "lacs" or maybe athenians(becouse they polished their equpment every day (shine "gold") and some other but most time were equipment yellow, yellow/brown, red/brown...so its will by maybe little strange(used gloss)...viz up...

    4. new buildings
    ..yes we have it in plain :wink:

    -voice mod....very difficult
    -music...we will see
    -web site...i think somebody was doing that already
    -historical generals and captains....what do u mean exactly?
    -new buildings....many but first CA must give bug free patch
    -longer time for new units to make game difficult....i think that BI (i havent played much though) is much more difficult anyway
    -mew traits,retinues...Romanus is doing that....but if he places Platon for special retinue as he wants i ll kill him :laughing: :laughing:

    Hi. These are my suggestions. More to come.

    ***Make the stone wall the ultimate wall that can be built. I think that the Great Wall and the Epic Wall are WAY too much big, totally disproportioned... It was impossible to build such big walls, and even today, the wall`s foundations wouldn`t resist that weight...

    The siege towers that the CPU builds for assaulting that walls are just hilarious...

    I think that even Homer`s Troy had smaller walls.

    ***A more realystic tree size. There is a mod for that. Perhaps you could adapt it to yours.

    ***Longer sea trade routes. As the ones on "Naval Mod" (excellent minimod) for RTR.

    A little advice, and one perhaps you are already following, is to go on and go make some benchmark, watching other mod`s ideas, in order to apply them on your mod. That may save you more than one headache. Personally I suggest RTR and Europa Barbarorum. Those mods have very good ideas (ZOR, etc.)

    Btw, very good work. I will try to come up with more ideas. It`s the only way I can help you, since I have no advanced knowledge of modelling, you have got people that know better than me the history of ancient greece, and I don`t know how to modify the RTW code...

    Perhaps, in the future, you may find one of my ideas to your liking... who knows.

    Thanks but no, no...better have headache. I personaly cant agree that they have most ideas good(for our mod)....also we have own unique ZOR and most of things we can and must make alone :wink:

    The walls of babylon were said to be so large that one could turn a chariot fully around on its top. At the time that was written they used 3-4 horse chariots which would require a good 30+ feet to turn around.

    The egyptians managed to make foundations that withstood the weight of a mountain.

    about sieges:that timeframe we focus to,isnt famous for great walls and legendary sieges (though they were not absent since both Persians and Greeks had laid sieges before,during and after persian wars)

    ...i also think that we dont need to use the most highlevel of walls and the same for siege towers/artillery as well
    however the wall would offer a good strategical advantage to any greek city....the spartans were demanding that athenians should not build walls (which would give em strategical advantage) and the athenians also made the troublemaking cities which didnt accept their hegemony to destroy their walls (like they did with Thasos for example)

    ...so it makes sense that a wall offers a good protection and safety...and of course they dont need to be huge since everybody lacks of any serius siege equipement (except some basic rams)

    -also when the carthaginians eventually sucked Himera city in the end of 5th century,they succeded it exactly because they used artillery and siege equipement that greeks were not familiar with

    That is somthing that Missed in RTW, being able to tear walls down. Please make them long to build (too long to make it worth it foe every city) and tear down-able.

    If you can disable the option to build siege towers, that would be perfect. It will make sieges a lot tougher for the attackers, as it should be in that time-frame, especially if you choose to include large walls. What I’d really like to see, although I doubt it’s doable, is Long Walls (Makra Teihei): A city improvement that gives a besieged city the ability to last indefinitely without loosing any soldiers, as long as the port isn’t blockaded.

    What siege will you be able to get? Rams is often destroyed by enemy towers... Will you be able to use siege towers(not so historically accurate), sapping(dont know), ladders...
    And artillery, will you be able to get onagers and ballista or something else?
    Also, Seleucos of Olympia's idea was very good, the long walls of Athens that was going from Athens to its port in Pireus was what prevented the Spartans from taking it, since Athens could always get supplies from sea. If factions could get that, it would be much better. And you could even make it so that large cities with long walls cant be taken by just sieging (without assaulting) if not the city is sieged AND the port blocked. Because other ways, they can get supplies by sea...

    Yes I also think that this is a great idea. Most of the time in RTW all you have to do is wait a few turns and the depleted army sallies one by one through the city gates only to be massacred by your forces. It would be great to implement this (if not hardcoded).

    if it can actually be done that would be a good,interestign and realistic idea...howver i dont think its the first time sombody suggested such idea and if it was doable it would have been already done by other mod...


    also i had been sent a suggestion from Graccus which said that each time a siege occurs,then inside the city there sould appear an additional garrison of militia kind units (well ZoR units and city specific units would sound better) depending to the cities size and population...

    this is a good idea in terms that it would discourage the often sieges to happen,however it will make expansion more difficult

    not to mention that our coder wants to minimize as much as possible the use of scripts...

    Just a few..

    - In the strategy map the standard bearers which show your armies shuld be altered in some way (not exactly sure how, maybe going as far as making them a small horde of men as in chivalric TW) so that they dont look so gimpy, espacially when the clumsily waddle around the map which looks rediculous.

    - More diversity with ship types since the naval side of the game will have a bigger part to play with all of these city islands needing some sort of a navy (it will be very interesting to see how naval supremacy can be achieved with what will presumably be such a crowded sea of ships from the other factions). Nations like the athenians could have a specialist ship type - more expensive but superior.

    - As said above, longer waiting times to build more advanced units (maybe even forcing you to go through some civic buildings before being allowed to constrct later military ones). It gives the game a feel of evolution. It also makes you feel like your racing the rival nations to unlock the better units first, giving you the upper hand in battle. The biggest weakness of the SPQR mod is that since you can just about build anything straight away the game becomes very dull and flat very quickly.

    i would like to see alot more mercenaries, and alot more enemy armies using mercenaries.

    as u probably know, almost every army in the world at this time period employed mercenaries.

    i would also like to see strong alliances. not ones where ur neighbor and ally attacks u 4 turns after u become allies.

    and its probably impossible but, is there any way that u can make it where u and ur ally can form some of ur troops up into a single "coalition army" that can hold more troops or even make a way to synchronize attacks against enemies. just any way to make alliances beneficial and really work.

    and i would also like a musicmod that reflects the music of the time period.

    any of these would make me happy

    and please dont include eles

    I Would reaaaallly like to have seabattels. I know this is a lot to ask, and I am pretty sure I demand to much...but for this timeperiod it would be awesome.
    I also like the Idea of the long wall. And only small walls in the battles. If the walls are small, I would't have a problem with ladders...

    Ahh well. Thats it...

But I might help you by searching anything on the web like images for the Construction Banners, maybe some texts or hystorical sources on the web... maybe releasing you from unimportant jobs...
