Pictures of my first battle against the Roman Rebels. I just didn't know those guys would be Imperial units and how to fight them...My troops fought bravely, but since almost all of my battles are being decided by my strong cavalry I just didn't know how to counter them with one cavalry cohort. (except from killing the archers)

One of my full stack vs. full stack battles. Even they have a different outfit (imperial instead of my late-republican) it 's like looking in a mirror and realizing how tough to beat them.
As a said, strong cavalry is my thing and as you will see it's them who decided the outcome of the battle. I find them even more usefull fighting romans, since they don't have spears.

My civil war battles go generally the same. German mercenaries ftw! Their charge is epic, + (as tone said) they get a bonus during 1/2 of the year on about 3/5 of the camp map.

I've noticed that using heavy cavalry against the Romans is quite interesting, like I said since they don't use spears.

    Don't you patch that devs!

Romans didn't have spears, so what would be the point in patching that?
Legionaries can hold their own against cavalry in melee, and cavalry can get quite a few casualties when charging into prepared legionnaires.

I meant Roman (rebels) recruiting some AOR units with spears.

After a 20 year long War with the Carthaginians, i have run tem out of North Africa....well so i thought anyway.....3 full stacked armies attacked My national Leader curently residing in a city south of Carthage.
This was the last hand they could deal and by the gods it was a great hand. They had double the men, all professional and battle hardened with experience.

Whoever would win this battle would either keep hold of Carthage (me the Romans) or retake Carthage (carthage lol) This was the decider.

Sorrounded on all sides Sextus Maximus, Consul, suryeyed his troops. He was entrapped y all sides withing the city. He knew that if he guarded the wooden walls his forces would be two thinly stretched andhe would be annhilated.

There were only two roads leading to the City centre, that would be where the battle for North africa would be met, Maximus's Elite Republican and Trarii would stand firm and hold every attack Carthage could throw at them.

Nice battle, I'm curious to see what units they fielded.

A nice little something. This duel went on for about 2 entire minutes, before the coward turned tail and ran. He returned, only to be faced by a no-nonsense cohort commander a little later. This reminds me why I enjoy Rome TW so much- so thanks CA, and thanks RS2 team!

This is probably the most hilarious thing I've ever seen in RTW.

This was just at the beginning of the battle, I ordered my archers to throw flaming arrows on those elephants. But I never thought that this would happen.. the Elephants ran amok due to the fire, and they crushed their own general. Poor guy died before he could even command this troops.
