A couple of screens from a campaign battle against the Belgae - it was a bit one-sided but my former allies had a walk around my territory and decided to attack a fort I had blocking the path further into my territory....

So in the Empires thread I said how annoying the Macedonians were, and how they ended up.. well.. this graph sums it up. It seems like the RTW engine can accurately render the process. Viewer discretion is advised

That island is how a faction can continue to survive in RTW without emergent factions. Leave it alone and you'll continue to enjoy the game as it was intended.

Its a shame you have no more slots, it would have been awesome had you filled that island with LOTR elves.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
A mystic portal has opened up, a great group of elves heading towards the west are now in these misterious lands, they see grand forests huge, lush and dark, similar yet so different from the forests they are used to. What is this foreign land? they travel the island and are marveled by its utter beauty untainted by the likes of Morgoth, they know this land is new and they adquire information of the small populace that was in this land.
Marveled by their beauty and almost godly appearance they gladly tell them about the lands south of the water, a terrifying land of darkness and death. However the elves in there never ending curiosity venture to see these lands, a desicion they quickly regret when they find tribes of humans great and warlike, with great beards remembering that of the dwarves, the size of the numenoreans long gone, and sheer ferocity only rivaled by orcs.
They see violence and war were ever upon they look and these men do not think kindly of their incursions and lust on their brought goods. Alas they leave these lands and return to that island to which they had first arrived.
"There is no return brothers and sisters, trapped in these foreign lands we find ourselves, so let us make the best of it" - and so they resigned themselves, deciding that elves shall not dissapear and will prosper, alone, and took it upon themselves to make them last against all......

"i heard rumors from the locals, it is said that... that the island is magical, that whomever dares go there is forever lost inside the great woods and never heard of again..."
"Is that not what they say about Germania? and yet here we are"
"yes, but it is different, the men feel it, its stranger... than anything we have encountered... tall beings.... tall beings that shine like the stars in the night, who's singing mesmerizes you into a never ending trance."
"Heh, your going paranoid Quintus, but thats what you get for listening to the savages... well, matters not, the riches that seem to come from those islands are well worth the risk. So, may those "gods" prepare for even they should fear our mighty legions! prepare the men, we sail to gotland!

    I got carried away
