Bridge Battles are considered cheat since the beginning of RTW because the AI can not handle them..their design is broken...so basically the enemy comes thru that bottleneck and is slaughtered by the Player...thats not smart playing but exploit of poor game mechanics
ups..sorry ..but had to mention it...

Heh, I even 'tried' to BEAT this bug by going into the geography.db and making the fords wider....so that more units could cross easier and faster. But alas, RTW did not like this, and CTD'd immediately for my trouble.

Hey! I have a question. What does the "Unlimited men on battlefield" setting does?
Is there any way in which to play a battle with 2 ore more stacks, all controlled by the player?

    Thanks!

Haha you know that the armies of Belgae consist mainly of light infantry? That means they swim across the river. Well I never said that it was smart, or right, but It was necessary if I wanted to take down the Belgae in northern Italy. Anyhow, that is over and I drove them back into the Alps. No offence taken:

@dl_iepurasu: I think it removes the limit of how many men you can have on the battlefield.
Yes you can but this is quite flawed since your army wont move into the field unless you have room in your main army. At least that is what mine does. Just stands there and wait.

@DVK901: Yup it's quite stupid, either we need more crossing points or bridges.

Is it just me or are the other nations quite fond of attacking? I mean seriously I can't hold a alliance for two turn before they betray me and start attacking. Quite annoying since I have a minor rebellion in southern Spain and the Legion Iberius is busy killing Iberians and Barbarians from Europe.

That's how the AI is coded (by CA). Nothing wrong with that, this is a Total War game after all.

Thats normal...the AI is hardoded in the exe but it seems the prgrammer was sick when he programmed the Camapaign AI..same things happend to M2TW when it was released...no alliance hold for more than 1 turn fi you shared a border with that Faction...
having full stacks on the border prevents the AI from breaking alliance

Yeah I know I made Pontos a protectorate, following year I was forced to wipe them off the face of the earth...I won't tolerate betrayal, so I made an example of them, Oderunt dum Metuant

I give them forgiveness and acceptance and what do they do?! They throw it back to me like a child would. So I murdered their children, women and live stock only leaving enough alive to bury the bodies. Now I show no mercy, kill all! For bevaringen av Emperiet!

The most funny thing happened. As I was battling the Belgae in northern Italy a Cimbri army showed up on the screen and bypassed my army (was in a deadlock), they stopped near my border town and with further inspection I saw that the Cimbri had sent a staggering 800 naked men() to help their allies. I just shook my head and killed them with a rain of fire arrows and a powerful charge from my cavalry.

I counted 22 factions... Am I right? How it that possible?

    isn't the limit 20 (19 plus rebels)?

    I'm confused

The limit is 21. In the Roman Campaign, the Roman Rebels replace the free barbarians in a straight swap, so there are only 21 factions in a given campaign. This is made possible by effectively making each campaign a mini-mod with its own mod-folder - explaining why RS2 itself cannot be mod-foldered.

Hmm it seems that I have run into a problem. I started a Cimbri campaign and I can't save. I only have one other campaign which is roman. Anyone else experienced this problem?

If you are unable to save /load your campaign (greyed out), delete your save/preferences folders in your Play_Whetever folder, start a game, pass a turn, exit the game and restart. This should solve the problem.

Thanks again to the ones that made this game possible. Loving the mod more and more, but a quick question to anyone, is changing the city name okay to do, or can it mess things up?

I tried looking it up, but didn't find anything. And I didn't want to make a thread asking this. Thanks.

How can I destroy a building that is not displayed in the "City" tab?
The population of Carthage is no longer growing, as I build villages (-6%) after conquering them to limit unrest. Now, because of too many buildings in Carthage, the "villages" is not among the first 30, so it's not displayed.
I have tried going to the building browser section, but you can not destroy from there, button is grayed out.

Also, due to unknown factors, I don't have access to the debug window so using a cheat is not an option. Any help is welcome thanks.

Oh, and if you could also take a look at the question I quoted, that would be great too

Until now I did not heard of a solution for the buildings under the waterline
They can not be destroyed if they are not displayed (obvious).
Iam afraid you have to destroy other buildings to make them reappear in the building slots.

Additionally there are buildings who can not be destroyed once they are build...

You have to enable it in the preferences file within that faction's folder. Its at the very bottom of the file.
