Thanks for the link, but I was wondering if there are any lists in text that I could print out and use as an easy reference in game. Thanks.

A 4tpy version has been briefly considered but then when you consider that it would affect all the traits and break a lot of the coding for the rebellions etc, it will not become reality.

The team will never adopt 4tpy, but that doesn't stop a genius modder release their own sub mod

Hey I downloaded and installed RSII and when I played everything went smoothly other then the fact that I cant save. The option isn't even available...? Any ideas on what I should do?

Yeah you need to quit every time you reload a save due to the script so you would have to exit out of the game to be able to save. That's one of few things that's bad about the script but we found it to be a minor - considering the fact that it adds so much more to the game. Welcome to TWC btw.

The settings in the option menu still function as they do in vanilla, but we have added a few of our own in the launcher so you can have fewer trees on the battlemap without reducing their quality. The model can also be swapped between two options. However, it is the sprite distance which is changed by this option. It would also seem that running the program on compatibility XP SP3 with vista or 7 could remove a few crashes on the battle-map if you have some.
Hi, great mod!. From reading this I got curious as to how you change the sprite distance? In the descr_model_battle.txt maybe?

I'm responding to an earlier post about EB vs RS2:

I think EB is geared towards people who like to play slow and somewhat historical (though not necessarily linear). Being a first time player of RS I have to say that I think the mod would be MUCH better off starting around 100 BC so that the Marian reforms have already taken place and the First Serville War has "divided" the empire and new factions (like rebel general Quintus Sertorious and Pontus) seek to exploit the weaknesses of the dying republic. I think this teams strength is the depth of the Legions and starting the game in 100 BC would allow the team to shine.

But then we'd have to change half the factions on the map, and their units etc. That seems rather impractical to me. Plus Rome will start with a big chunk of the map... If you want to mod it yourself, be our guest.

Can I delete the 'Local Mercanary building' from other factions when I've taken their cities?

I always delete their barracks once I've taken the city (I can't use it, so I delete it), but I'm not sure if I'm doing any harm with tearing down the 'Local Mercenary bulding'.

Rs 2 in't only about the Romans. It's about the factions and thus 100bc isn't as good as the current date.

The only downside of the trait file atm is that once you gain what i call the "core" bad traits (harsh dumb, drunk...) who leads to hate and economic depression, you can't loose them (unless prooved otherwise; checking the EDCT conforted my analysis tho).

In that regard, 4tpy worsen the situation, since you'll be stuck with bad characters for twice as long.

The whole "bad traits > hated > depression" line needs to be given safety doors (example: revert harsh ruler by occupying cities peacefully, revert being dumb by sitting in a city with a high lvl academic building for X turns, revert drunk by having cultural buildings, revert womanizer by being on campaign...etc).

How would it be accurate to make a person that is dumb smart by having him in an academy?

If this has been suggested before, I apologize and I know the modders have looked at every aspect of this game.

    - so - It would be nice to get an event notice if there are large armies of brigands squatting in your backyard. You'd the local governor would sent a note along with his mention of a new Wrestler or Hunting Dog.

I'm not sure that that's possible to make. It's the same old engine after all, but then again I know nothing about scripting.
