Thread: Correct Colonies mod 1.0

    Default Correct Colonies mod 1.0

I was annoyed that Britain, France, and Spain had to capture several regions before their own colonies joined them, so I edited the scripting.lua so that the player gets them at the start of the game and the AI gets them on their first turn (between the player's first and second turn).

The former colonies do not have any soldiers because adding soldiers involves editing the startpos.esf, which would turn this 34KB mod into a 65MB one.

To install download the scripting.rar attached to this post, unpack it, and put the scripting.lua in the 'empire total war\data\campaigns\main' folder (default location 'C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data\campaigns\main'). Backup the existing scripting.lua before you overwrite it.

Very nice. I did this exact thing myself for Imperial Splendour because those "missions" annoyed the hell out of me.

Im sorry to Necro-post, but I have a question on this. You say the lands start out as (e.g. England), but then revert the next. Does this mean they rebel, and I now have to get those colonies back? Will they build troops (you wrote they won't have troops) to fight against me?

No, I'm fairly sure he means that, if you start out as England, instead of having to capture Quebec, Georgia and the Cherokee Territory, the 13 colonies are immediately yours, while Louisiana and New Spain are annexed by their respective owners upon the end of your turn. No rebellions.
