The Netherlands is also known as Holland which means houtland (hout=wood) so my question is : Are you going to put a lot of trees on the map (that would be historically accurate)? Swamps also have trees in them. I feel I need to express that I disagree with the Romans forcing the Frisians/Frisii into a truce resulting in the Frisians/Frisii paying tribute to the Romans, it is far more likely that the Romans were unable to defeat the Frisians/Frisii because:

    - Many times in Dutch history the Rhine was used as a defense line, they were unable to cross the Rhine. Napoleon for example was able to cross it because the Rhine was frozen, if it hadn't been frozen then Napoleon would never have gotten further than the Southern part of the Netherlands (at least not as easy as he historically did). The swamps also helped because there were almost no roads in the area, some time ago some people found a fully armored Roman soldier with horse (it was preserved by the swamp).
    - Even though we're speaking of Barbarians they were very good at warfare because it was inbedded in their culture, every man was a born soldier (unlike the Romans who had to be recruited). The weaklings would be sorted out by the wars between tribes and stuff like that. I'm quite sure they also used tactics to reduce casualties like guerilla warfare (hit, run, hide; the highland way ).
    - History is written by the Romans, they complemented themselves/exaggerated a lot (the best example for this is Julius Ceasar's writings on the wars with the Gauls).
    - The Barbarian tribes probably outnumbered the Romans.

So I think it is likely that the Romans were unable to defeat the Frisians/Frisii, but they managed invade the Netherlands up to the Rhine and since there were probably people living there they established trade with the Romans. I might be wrong, but I don't think so.

Anyway, nice to see someone working on the dutch area in this age.

Edit : Btw, the Frisians at their peak of power ruled an area spanning form the Northern part of Denmark all the way up to the Northern part of France (though this was a while after the fall of the Romans).
