don't worry, some dutch guys decide that they will be better presented as conquerors at the sea... 1500 years afterwards....

Yeah i think there will soon start some good mods featuring the Netherlands in the Golden age (you are my hero Strategos Lykos, you are together with me the only ones who putted the Dutch in a mod!).

Well, the average Dutch knowledge of their history isn't that great, in my own class half the people don't even know when the 80 years war started, or when our country was occupied by the Romans (someone said between 500 B.C. and 800 A.D. wtf! And someone else said Charlemagne was a Greek general).

The Lower Lands were inhabited by Germanic tribes and Celtic influenced ones in the period Batavia TW covers, though there will be a campaign with the Romans too. Good you as a (where are you from?) knows something about Dutch history.

It also disappoints me how few Dutch people offer their service for a mod featuring their own history...
I have Irishguy, Glorfindel and Chocoabom (thanks guys) but no other Dutchmen wants to help...
I think they must shame themselfs... We dutchmen are known for our Nationalistic ways, but i do not see much of that on this forum

The Dutch are especially nationalistic when it comes to soccer
I don't think they're that nationalistic, (well at least I'm not really). Most people like the queen and the royal house (they suck though).

You're team is pretty large, considering that it's only a minor modification. And most Dutch (we're the exceptions) don't have modding skills (just like everywhere on the globe). You've got three already, much more you'll hardly find.

Never think Batavia Tw as "minor" modification. They gonna put some entirely new factions to give ultra realistic set... And small map means ! 52 turns per year for realistic set!

It's not really small, the map is indeed focusing on the Lower Lands, but also parts of Saxony and Germany are added and there are plenty of regions. New factions, units, buildings and concepts are added also.

Unfortunately not (if I did, I would've offered it already). Which engine will you be using, Rome, BI or Alex?

We are using BI I thought, though I'm not entirely sure...

Compared with other mods, Batavia is quite minor, from what I've read. But perhaps I'm mistaken.

I'm really pleased you guys are making such fast progress I think the real testing point will be with the map, but I know i can't wait to see it!

I would have volunteered with the skinning and text editing already, if it hadn't have been for the fact I'm working on two mods at the moment. However, if there is any text editing (I'm experienced at editing the EDU and DMB) that you need helping out with, drop me a PM and i might be able to help you, depending on how busy i am.
