This second vid reminded me alot of this old vanilla trailer:

With the main difference being that the RS one actually looks better, despite not being a CGI.
Now that you mention it that does spring to mind. I just meant that in general the textures and environments look much higher quality than I had thought Rome was capable of. Adding in bloom effect though? That is insane I wasn't even sure that could even be done with the original Rome. Pretty psyched up about this mod now, looks like epic stuff.
The RS2 team has created a mod that has pushed itself into a realm of possibilities that few mods have achieved with the Rome engine. In terms of overall scope, "epic" may be too small a word to describe it.
epic with a "c"? Of course not. Epik with a "k" though...

Oh, that's not good.
My Dad gave me Nik Software's Photoshop bundle pack for a late birthday present (Color Efex Pro 3.0, DFine Pro 3.0, Sharpen Pro 3.0, Viveza, etc.) I downloaded it just last weekend and I've been having fun ever since, including editing out some of my RSII images. The plugins, when used separately or in conjunction with my Topaz filters (Adjust, ReMask, Detail, DeJpeg, etc.), produce some of the clearest, sharpest game images I've ever seen.
Of course, the first rule of digital imaging is your picture is only as good as your image originally - so if by adding bloom, I lose detail, bloom goes bye, bye.
Besides, I can add bloom with these plugins ...

Edit:
Or maybe with an "I" and a "k". Ipik. Said really fast. Like, "It's ipik, baby, ipik. You just can't BELIEVE how ipik it is."

Please call me Dani ... Yes, it's true ... I'm a girl ...
I give rep to people for being helpful, considerate, or clever. Ergo, you DO NOT have to rep me in return. Your being clever does not entitle me to rep. See?
Yeah, but the point is that you don't get those effects while playing if you don't use bloom. But have a go and try it.
I reckon bloom for me causes about a 5-10% frame rate loss.
New video : "Campaign Map" (in first page)
PS : This is the first time I realized that kind of video.
Thank You !

not sure if I like the big noses on the building browser (:
Sweet. Though I had a few nerd moments there where I stopped to read the building descriptions.
typo on the Roman Oppidium, btw...
#3 is the best yet. I spend most of my time on the Campaign map.
What is up with Greece though- all the beaches are straight?

nice the " Campaign Map" teaser is awesome, a lot of interesting details!
I have to say it again, I 'm fascinated what the RSII team has made based on the old RTW.
( and I also know how lifetime consuming such a massive Mod project is, therefore a respectful thanks for sharing it... )
