At this point it almost feels like a threadjack, but seeing the unit roster of Dol Amroth in its entirety fills me with mirth Obviously, the Kingdom of Dol Amroth won't be able to wage war against Gondor in the completed mod, but would they still have access to regional Gondorian units? I.e., if Mordor managed to conquer Gondor (insert swelling orchestral music here), would Dol Amroth be able to recruit the regional units after capturing the requisite regions?

The next unit is a rare lttle number. Enjoy.

    Name: White Knights of Edhellond

Weapons and Equipment: Lance, Sword, Shield, Helmet, Plate and Mail Armour
    AOR: Edhellond

Short Unit Description: The White Knights of Edhellond are skilled and experienced riders, who are unmatched in their swordsmanship skills. It is said that they learned the skills of horsemanship from some of their Elven ancestors.

    Long Unit Description:

It is said that the people of Edhellond have the blood of the first-born running through their veins, in few is this more evident than the White Knights. Edhellond was an Elven haven in years gone by and although the haven was abandoned by the Elves with the departure of Lord Amroth and his house, the port endured. The nobles of the port city, the Knights of Edhellond show the grace and dignity of their elven ancestors. When the Prince of Dol Amroth rides to war, the White Knights answer the call to arms of their lord and are second only to the Swan Knights in valour and prowess.
The White Knights ride into battle on the finest steeds garbed in quality mail barding. The Knights themselves wear armour that shows their heritage, a mixture of Elven and Númenórean craftsmanship. They are skilled swordsmen and shun the use of the lance in battle, instead favouring the darting blade.

Dol Amroth will be able to recruit Gondor soldiers if they say recapture Minas Tirith from Mordor, of course, they're as close as allies come. Would Rohan be able to levy Gondor troops in the same situation...no, BUT we have scripts that allow you to pick up stragglers from broken armies, so you can temporarily gather allied troops if you're using them to aid an ally under siege.

So...DA will NOT have fountain court guards, but would be able to recruit some base gondor soldiery for certain.

Okay folks, here is the next description. These fellows are armed with my favourite weapon - pointy sticks.

    Name: Lancers of Dor-en-Ernil
Weapons and Equipment: Sword, Lance, Shield, Helmet and Mail Armour
    AOR: Tarnost

Short Unit Description: The Lancers of Dor-en-Ernil are medium cavalry that provide support for the heavy cavalry charges of Dol Amroth.

    Long Unit Description:

Dor-en-Ernil or the ‘Land of the Prince’ consists of all the lands surrounding the port city of Dol Amroth. It is a rich and fertile area and provides great wealth to its owners. The Lancers are a company of medium cavalry drawn from the wealthy landowners and lesser nobility of Belfalas and their retinues. They are often deployed as scouts and outriders when the Prince of Dol Amroth goes to war.

When not in the field the Lancers of Dor-en-Ernil are garrisoned at the fortress at Tarnost and they train long and hard, hoping to earn the right to join the ranks of the elite cavalry of the Prince. Although less armoured than the famed Swan Knights of the city, the Lancers provide a fast counter attacking force that can easily outmanoeuvre most enemies, allowing them to deliver deadly flanking charges.

Here is the next unit description. Another infantry unit.

    Name: Tarnost Guard
Weapons and Equipment: Spear, Helmet, Shield Mail and Plate Armour
    AOR: Tarnost

Short Unit Description: The inland areas of Dor-en-Ernil provide a levy of troops, which are trained and garrisoned at the fortress of Tarnost. These brave men stand ever ready for deployment if the need arises.

    Long Unit Description:

Formed from the men hailing from the many villages and farming communities that are scattered throughout the inlands of Dor-en-Ernil or ‘Land of the Prince’, the men of the Tarnost Guard are a well equipped garrison. The Guard are stationed at a fortress situated upon the Hills of Tarnost, which command a central position within the principality. The Tarnost garrison is always prepared for the frequent raids of the corsairs. They are also ready for full scale war, eager to march under the White Swan banner, to distant fields of battle.

The Tarnost Guard wear breastplates over mail hauberks made of fine steel. They carry tall shields bearing the emblems of their prince, the White Ship and White Swan. They wield finely made war spears which they use with deadly skill. Although trained to fight on foot, they ride to battle on swift horses alongside the Lancers of Dor-en-Ernil; this allows them to respond quickly to corsair threats. When they take to the field of battle they deploy in solid ranks of infantry.

Another Infantry unit. Wait until you can see the new version of these guys that Squeaks has done. They are great.

    Name: Men-at-Arms of Dol Amroth
Weapons and Equipment: Pike, Helmet, Mail and Plate Armour
    AOR: Dol Amroth

Short Unit Description: The Men at Arms of Dol Amroth are drawn from the common folk of the city. When war is upon the land they take up arms to defend their people.

    Long Description:
In times of war the Prince of Dol Amroth can deploy many companies of brave warriors in disciplined lines of pike men which support the standing army of Tirith Aear. Each man who belongs to such a company has served in rotation in the armies of Dol Amroth and has received training in war craft and discipline, although they are not professional soldiers and are unused to the full terrors that battle can bring.

The Men-at-Arms of Dol Amroth are equipped well; each wears a mixture of mail and plate, fine armour that can easily turn the crude blade of an orc. They are well drilled in the use of the Amrothian pike, a sturdy long spear that can be deployed in a nigh impenetrable hedge of steel. The blood of Númenór still runs true in the sons of Dol Amroth and these tall imposing pike men fight in a disciplined and methodical action, grinding through the foul followers of the Dark Lord.

There will be another video made for the brand spanking DA look, and we are working on something else, but people have the nerve to take holidays at this time of year - outrageous! Humph.

I will preview the 'new' units with their changes and a couple not yet seen at all. Dol Amroth is finished, but want to make sure you get a decent look at themses, so am prepping them.

As soon as it will be ready.... seriously, we are working hard on it, and I know that a long time has passed since the last release, but as we really would like to improve it, I can just ask you to stay patient. We will inform you about the most important things we will add.

Short Unit Description: The Swan Knights are the Elite Cavalry of Dol Amroth. They are the mightiest warriors of the City.

    Long Unit Description:

Famed for their bravery and valour the Swan Knights of Dol Amroth are unmatched upon the field of battle. Tall, grey-eyed and dark-haired each one of the knights is drawn from the ruling houses of Dol Amroth. Although small in number, when the Swan Knights take to the field, hope is stirred in even the most troubled hearts of men. For upon their grey steeds in full harness, with gilded banners bearing the White Ship and Silver Swan, the nobles of Dol Amroth are a sight to behold. Fair and stern, they trace their ancestry from the noble blood of Númenór, and ride into battle resplendent in armour of great craftsmanship and carry tall lances and burnished shields.

Few can stand against the mighty charge of the Swan Knights; those that hold are soon dispatched with swords forged in the smithies of Númenór of old. The Nobles of Dol Amroth are unsurpassed in their skill at arms in the world of men and once committed to battle they will not flee from any foe, even the foulest of the Dark Lord's servants. The most experienced and mightiest of the Swan Knights of Dol Amroth have the honour of accompanying the Prince of the City into battle.

Always ready to act as the first line of defence if the city is invaded by sea they play an important part in the security of the city.

During times of unrest and war, these brave men march to battle under the banner of their prince. They swap their leather coifs and jerkins for majestic helms and fine plate armour and take up tower shields, although they keep their distinctive sea blue cloaks. Serving alongside the Wardens of Tirith Aear, they wield fine steel blades forged with techniques passed down from ancient Númenór. The Prince of Dol Amroth can count on these courageous men to hold a steady battle line.

    Nimrodel Sentinels
    Name: Nimrodel Sentinels
    Rating: ???
Weapons and Equipment: Bow, Sword and Leather Armour.
    AOR: Edhellond

Short Description: This guard company take their name from the Elf maiden Nimrodel, the lost lady of King Amroth. Their Elven heritage ensures that they are skilled archers.

Long Description: During the First Age the Elven havens of Brithombar and Eglarest fell to the forces of Morgoth, many Elves fled the destruction and it is said that three ships sailed far to the south to the Bay of Belfalas to establish the haven of Edhellond. For long ages Edhellond was an Elven settlement, yet over time, the population of the haven diminished as many Elves chose to depart across the sea. When the Men of Númenór began settling the coast of Belfalas, some intermingled with the Elves of Edhellond. These Half-Elves remained behind when the last Elven ship left carrying the Elven King Amroth.

The Lay of King Amroth and the Lady Nimrodel is a sad tale, which ended with King Amroth diving into the sea and swimming for the shore to search for his lost love Nimrodel. The King drowned and no one knows what became of the lost lady. Yet those of Elven blood in Edhellond honour the memory of the fair Elf maiden. The Nimrodel Sentinels are named in her honour and they keep a symbolic lookout for her coming.

The Sentinels have inherited the skills of their Elven forefathers and possess keen sight and unerring accuracy with their bows. They wear sea blue cloaks over leather jerkins that display the White Swan of Dol Amroth. They are ready to answer the call to arms if the Prince of Dol Amroth has need of their skills.

Well, after all the remodelling and reskinning, after the poll, the massive input from everyone, I REALLY hope you love 'em.

    Sqk

NOTE: Lord Calidor's Heavy Spear model was used for Tarnost Guard but reskinned. Other work (some greaves, bracers) is from TATW and full credits need to be given to them. Thanks to the community who share stuff here!
