    Meqons Gameplay Enchancment Mod Beta v1 Ready for download

    Moded:v1.0
    made all unit recruit time 0
    half upkeep cost ( This makes the AI create lots of massive armies )
    half recruit cost ( ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ )
    peasant's no longer recruitable.

    v.1.1
    halfed unit recruit cost and upkeep Again!
    moral increased.
    armour increased.
    and more tweaks.
    plus some bugs fixed.

    there is an error in export_Descr_unit, it CTD's instantly, i'll just go find the error message again#

    EDIT: here is the message.
    "Script Error in bi/data/export_descr_unit.txt, at line 1, column 2. unknown identifier when new type expected"

    Hi!

    I have downloaded your mod, and as stated in the readme, I have copied the two included files to F:\activision\Rome - Total War\bi\data

    However, when I start the game, the screen with the copyright and all that stuff comes up, and the game crashes back to desktop. I have -showerr enabled, but I get no error message. I have not modded my game in any way except for your mod.

    I have already redownloaded the mod, thought it might be a corrupt download or something, but I still get the crash to desktop.

    I hope you can help me, because this looks like an interesting mod.

    remember that there is an "_" in show_err

    the target exe should be "F:\activision\Rome - Total War\(bi executable here)" -show_err that should show your error message, if that doesnt work then you may have just got unlucky twice ill send you the files if that still doesnt work, and if that doesnt work then you may have a corrupted install.

    I hope you get this to work eventually, and remember to back up export_descr_unit and export_descr_buildings



    EDIT: if you get the error message "Script Error in bi/data/export_descr_unit.txt, at line 1, column 2. unknown identifier when new type expected" then you have downloaded an earlier version that had an error in the export_descr_unit.txt file

    Hmm, so that is why I didn't get any error messages. Thank you for telling me.

    Foretunately I did backup export_descr_unit and export_descr_buildings, so after I struggled for a bit trying to get the mod to work, I replaced the modded files with the original files. Then for some strange reason the game crashed to desktop anyway.

    When I was about to uninstall and re-install the game, I discovered I had made a backup of my whole Rome - Total War folder. I replaced the one that gave the problem, and everything is fine now.

    I installed the mod and it is great. I started a campaign as the saxons, and after the WRE defeated me in bridge battle, they are knocking on the gates of my capital, Campus Saxones (sp?), with a full stack, and another on the way.

    heh, glad i could help....look at my screenies as well lol, by 368 i had a battle with just under 2,000 men in it twas aceness!!!

    Enjoy it mate, and i think meqon-nerd is adding some great stuff in the next beta.

    Thanks for that i realy appreciate comments like that.

    And yes Grimsta's right im gona make some fine new additions to the mod, And this time im gona make sure its working 100% before uploading.
    I've started making v2 with quite a few inprovments! i testing it out right now: Playing saxons Easy/Easy
    Im also thinking of adding some new skins and new models. . .
    Here are some screen shots of when i wanted to invade italy and other stuff.....god help me!

    P.S I was playing as the saxons not the western romans and just building up armies and taking pic's of them, Lol :laughing:
    That would be false avertisment * turns to tv and starts waving fist *

    Now before i was to invade italy i had bigger problems...


    so i finaly got to italy and one way to rome was well gaurded!!


    ...and the other way in.


    so i waited out in the sea in my boats waiting for them to clear out but insted they moved more in from the mountains!


    another few well gaurded areas.

    Now that I have a bit more time to myself on the computer...I'll download version 1.1 of this mod, and mod the game so I can play as the Lombardi...from the screenshots, it should be fun.
