okay, decision has been discussed and made.

Major, i'm afraid that you don't have any troops as far as the rules are conserned. You declared yourself as regent and the royal army is more or less putting its feet up until a king is declared.

Wales has picked a good time to rebel, it only has what lords england has to face or negotiate with, and since wales is your fief then i'm afraid you have no men to draw upon, as they are all currently hiding at home or marching against England.

You are allowed the usual 700 man mercs if you can afford it, but in game terms you have no levies or troops to call upon.

Can I please interject on Major Darlings behalf?

First of all, I can understand MD losing his troops in so far as he is no longer lord of Wales, and has no royal authority etc.

But london has been basically annihilated by rioters with an anti-Boghosian sentiment. This surely stands for something! Seeing the Welsh ally with Boghosian has got to raise the hatred even further. If major were to raise a civillian militia the RP more than proves that there would be many participants eager to shed boghosian blood...

Thus I would appeal to the mods to award a militia to MD specifically for this threat, to be disbanded once the welsh have dissipated and boghosian is dealt with.

To be honest, having them all arrive out of nowhere is pretty frustrating. As far as I'm aware, we still aren't allowing mass teleporters... Yet.

Well whoever controls london is up for 2000 troops, I would think that that could constitute as a militia army.

A compromise then? Since London has burned and it is a big player really when it comes to troops, however has no leader, until the election is over Major can take the men under his power and use those so as to fight the Boghosian threat. I think thats reasonable.

A most satisfactory compromise. I believe with Sun inactive for a little whilte ace is regent sheriff. I'll let him and major know if they dont see this first...

I still think I should be allowed a minimum of 5000, my reasons are thus

Even if those soldiers are waiting for a King, an emergency is an emergency and they are likely to stop Welsh invaders then just sit there. Secondly, until a new King is found, it is reasonable that I take control of them. i have been Regent for over a week so I am accepted and Rglans bishop hasn't objected to it.

As a suggestion why not have a mod roll a dice to decide how many you have, of course you could end up with less men but this method has been used to settle these things in the past.

And were there rolls for any other troops movements? No.

Precisely my point. Some time ago we did have rules regarding the movement of troops, but they were scrapped in the name of simplicity to adopt a common sense approach. I'm fairly certain that armies don't arrive on the snap of one's fingers, therefore it is common sense to say that neither had such vast armies to begin with.

At any rate, it has been resolved.

Lord William has requested a formal review of his characters assassination. I have found that there is enough evidence to at the very least review what the conditions are. His character shall be considered dead unless a mod panel concludes that there is enough evidence to overturn Raglan's current ruling. The dispute centers around time stamps on posts and leaving thread rules, not the roll values themselves.

But precedent indictes that it is not needed. If I remember when I was King and arreasted Flash I said I had arreasted MMM as well but he had posted going home before I posted his arreast so it did not count it all compares on how the conversation went. If LW posted he was in ireland before he finished the last bit of the conversation than it is timewarp he was in both places. However if he posted he was in Ireland after the end of the coversation than he is alive and well. There is also a few other common sense stuff that could mean he is dead eg if in his last post he asked Renee a direct question. This is my opinion as a former mod I am not sure if the rules have changed since my time as King and Mod.

LW's last post in the thread he was assasinated in was this:
William smiles as he sees his ally arrived to his aid
I honestly thought you'd never come
    chuckling
So what are we going to the prince of wales??? you know that there can one be one prince
    William winked at owain
It isn't even the middle of the conversation, this is him starting the conversation with a question, to which I replied:
Alright Boghosian you silly bugger, what's happening here?
Owain Gruffyd said with a slight grin.
    continuing the conversation.

Hmmm, interesting. And in my last post I warned against this same thing damnit, no one ever listens to me lol.

We definatly need to get a "General Rules" section into the rules thread and right this stuff down there so that this doesn't happen again.

    I've done it before

I think first we need a thread so everyoen can post what current rules/precidents that aren't written down.

Did the mods reach a verdict then? Was the assasination valid?
