    Default Bicycle Infantry

Will we be seeing these Bicycle 'Dragoons' in the mod in some form eventually? :-D

I heard they were used by certain special units as well as well as for messengers and such. Not sure how you would prevent them from charging in to their deaths though.

I suggested this before once, glad someone else has the idea too. I'd like to see it implemented somehow. Although, perhaps it can only be an attribute to some generals or even a tech. "Bicycle & bus" which would increase movement points greatly.

You could probably do some sort of mount thing and change a horse to a bicycle. It would be nice to see them on the battlefield but I could live with a unit that just had increased campaign movement.

Change dragoons into bycicle inf? Great idea! But they should start dismounted, for the sake of AI

I don't doubt that, but in the front lines ? (I mean this is total war, you just have a front line)

Yeh that was one isolated moment in the entire war, and only when there was massive momentum in the allies favour.

At the very most, this idea would only be implemented via tech. But I still can't see it happening, there is just too much other stuff to be spending our time on.

Not as if bicycles saved the war for the allies.

The maps are big enough to conceivably use bicycles to reinforce the line. That said, it would just be a fun militia unit in a future release.

Maybe only a tech, like "Cadenced Marching" in ETW, that makes inf units move faster on the campaign and battefield

Bicycles were used in an isolated incident near the end of the war when the allies had HUGE amounts of momentum and men were using whatever means of transport to move forward as fast as possible. This was on roads, and would not be able to be done on a battlefield, and they weren't used on the battlefield anyway. It's like saying, "hey lets put soldiers mounted on trains into the mod! soldiers moved around on those too!"

To be fair, there's no guarantee that the war ends in 1918 but yeah at the end of the day I agree. :-\

    +1

cycle troops are limited to roads so it doesn't make sense to have them riding cycles around in fields in the same way that cavalry would ride a horse around.
