    That is what I meant, was curious if he knew him because of politics, his writings, or science experiments. Pretty interesting fellow.

    I did Russian history at school and remember covering him briefly, but what really helped me was a book on the Russian revolution I finished just last week! I am usually very bad with post 19th-century history...

    here is the next picture... easily one of my favorite characters in all history
