Well, you need the a full version of Ultimate Unwrap3D, then the Etw Plugin. You also need the FBX Plugin for both Programms (means Ultimate Unwrap3D and Max).
You can find the FBX Plugin on the Autodesk Homepage.
Ok and then you can export the Model from Max (in the FBX Format) and import it to Ulitmate Unwrap, and then you can export it to Empire or Napoleon.
other question, i would like to edit the sword before adding tanks or airplanes, so not adding a new one but overwriting the sword, where can i find the sword? someone told me it was in variantmodels, but i cant find it there

its in the Equipment file... there are all weapons and all bags and so on stored.

There is no sword because all weapons are in one file... thogether with drums, muskets and so on.
Just open Mesh.Variant-part-mesh
But be aware that the actual version of the exporter cant save variant part meshes... for reimporting you would have to save it to
empire first and then using it in napoleon.
