    Sorry, should have provided more details.

    DTX5 = BC3/DTX5
    Image>scale image>and change the image size to 512x512 = correct
    As well as the quality, do I leave it at cubic? = correct
    If so then what about the X and Y resolution do I leave them alone? = yes

    Note: the size of the graphic doesn't matter where the 'projection' of the skin onto the model is concerned. The proportions of the image have to be kept at the same ratio.

    Edit: Forgot, when you save it, is it BC3/DXT5, BC3n/DXT5n, Alpha exponent(DXT5), YCoCg(DXT5), YCoCg scaled(DXT5), there's alot of DXT5's >_<

    are you working on this project still or u gived up?

    so is there a SS to see the diffrance? because my comp is good at handeling untill 5,000 or so orc'si's are cramed into a gate are laggy i would just like to know how much i would lose trying to make it a bit smoother?

    - Users of a high end set up will most likely not experience much of a change due to the high capability of their machine.

    i have finished to reduce unit textures of tatw 2.1.game works perfectly.with my shitttty laptop i can play with huge size now.thats good.

    but some of the squad learders has silver skin.and some of the units too.if i can solve these i ll release it here.if someone has knowledge about this help please.i tried to turn them back to 1024kb but still same.

    "Silver skin" is usually a missing texture (skin). Check that the name and file type is correct, check for the correct path as well.

    giga do ı need to resize the textures in unitsprites folder?cos i didnt do.

    - If the names and file types are correct, then maybe you didn't save the DDS in the right format. Try again and check.
    - Sprites do not need to be redone, their size is quite small.

    i gived up this work.cos of some of white textures.i couldnt handle with them.i ll resize broken crescent unit and i ll make for all player huge unit size available for this mod.tatw lovers forgive me.

    - The first part (reduced city tecxtures) is for M2TW mods in general, it installs into the base fodler
    - The second part is for TATW in particular, it installs into the TATW mod folder
    - If your mod has other textures, then those will be used before any of those in part 1 or 2.

    maybe a stupid question but, does this effect the graphics outcome much? cause sometimes my com runs bad.. sometimes great.. so sometimes i have lag and sometimes i don't.. so i really don't know if it's wise to install?

    In short it helps a lot and it decreases the stress on your graphics card.

    aah sounds good i just hope it doesn't make the walls really ugly but i'll give it a try

    EDIT: quick test sieging isengard and it ran very smooth..

    These are only graphics, they will not crash a game (even if you install them wrongly). There must be a different reason. Can you compress and attach your log?

    Not to undermine this submod, but with the next TATW patch a huge performance increase will come anyway. All textures will have the exactly same quality and resolution as now but half their file size!
    Simply because they all will be saved in the dxt1 format than in the useless dxt5 format what they have now. (file size from 1.33 mb now to 666kb, or somthing like that).
    It will positively affect the campaign map as well as particularly the battle map. You will receive a performance increase from approximatly 10-20 percent, according to my test, in every battle (siege or open field)!
