    Thanks

Since gandalf's texture is not too complicated I'll use it as a template for some basic skinning tuts.

How does this look as a WIP for the knife blade?
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I'm mainly concerned about the proportions and the definition of the curve. Any feedback?

I don`t want to provocate an discussion about the name sharku. But this complainig about "It is lore-wise or not" sucks, I mean this is an fantasy-mod and as long as the own created heroes or units or whatever, fits to the lore-universe, it is ok to create and add own things or persons.
And because of "Sharku", I suggest him, because he would be another type of hero for Isengard, because he would ride on a warg and is not an Infantry-man like Ugluk and Saruman. But it was just an idea.
And at Louis Lux great submod and great work so far, I hope you create a lot of heroes for every faction.

Are you doing the blade or the sheath?

Blade. The sheath will be made from the knife model.

After receiving some feedback from some more experienced modelers over at Revora, I reworked the knife model a bit. The curves and proportions should be much more accurate now.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

@ Louis Lux: All I did was move vertices around so the mapping of the knife is exactly the same as the one you have. If you're having any issues with the shape of the knife on the map though, just send me a pm. As is, it could probably stand to be touched up but I don't want to do anything to it without asking you so I don't mess up your texture.

Haven't started on the texture yet, I was thinking if it wasn't best to have the knife in it's sheath. What do you think?

I plan on making the sheath as well. Making the blade was mostly just practice for me (rather helpful practice I might add). Even though the blade will likely never end up getting seen in this game, it could have use for either Mount & Blade or Battle for Middle Earth, more likely the latter. The sheath model will be derived from the blade model anyways, so it's helpful to have an accurate model to build off of. I'll probably rework the texture mapping on the knife tonight and send it over to you and make the sheath tomorrow morning.

I'm gonna review Ugluk and see what can be done, Brevi made a good version that might be more accurate. I'll perhaps try to combine the two versions.

Here's the textured knife, the blade gave me a lot of trouble once again. Still have to find a good way to texture metal:

Yarrum, do you want me to send you the texture?

It looks awesome although I think you may have over-exaggerated the shadows on the base of the blade. Send it over either way though. I'll take another look at the mapping as well and see if I can make the blade texture fit a bit better.

Edit: I adjusted the mapping slightly on the blade, this should be the finished version of the knife, minus the sheath which I still have to do.

i think you should also create Cirdan. after all he is one of the oldest elves in middle-earth, maybe the oldest and he must be more than just an ancillary. his model can be that of the high elven captain, but with white hair and different clothes. he should have an ancillary which doesn't let him move from mithlond and his BG should be warriors of mithlond

Here I have a new list of possible heroes with pictures and own designs, including some, which are mentioned before and some, which are in progress, but I want to add them here for completeness. Some of them I have taken from the games-workshop-homepage, they are marked with (gws), they don`t exist in the book, but I think they would fit in the Lotr-world.

So this was my collection, I“m sorry for the long list and the place it has taken. And I know the heroes fom the games-workshop are just imagined, but I think every faction deserves his heroes, even when they are imagined and as long as they fit....
