    Hello,

    I want to make a sicily mod for RS 1.6a, I don't have expirence with modding, and I thought the best way learing is to just start.

    What is your sicily mod going to involve? Will be a zoomed in version of the island of sicily or something else entirely?

    WelI think i want to zoom in on the island, and maybe a bit of italy.

    the nations that wil be in it are:
    1. Syracuse ()
    2. Carthage
    the nations I'm thinking about are:
    1. Rome
    2. An invading greek citystate ( i dunno if there was a greek city state invading but it would be cool)

    the "rebels" wil change into "natives" or "independent nations"
    the first thing I'm going to change is (obviously) the map than faction names and locations, and the the units.

    I might let it run on RS 2 if that doesn't come out before the next ice age

    Then I would advice you to start with the map as you can easily use it for both RS 1 and RS 2.

    I wil now just improve Syracuse, because mapping is just too hard than I'll try more things.... If i have questions i'll post them here or in th tavern...

    OK stupid queestion, where are the unit maps? Because I can't mod if i can't change the units...

    i've made some changes but it says when i start a campaign: unexpected header settlement, only garrisons allowed after first building. What does this mean?

    What changes did you do? and btw check out Rome workshop if you need help with modding, plenty of tutorials there!

    Default AOR?

    I want to recruit my factions units everywhere. Still some places may give regional units. How can I do that?

    Make a backup copy incase you screw up!

    Open edu (export_descr_buildings) which you can find in \Roma Surrectum 1.6\Data

    Search for the units you want to edit and delete everything that has "and hidden_resource" at the end.

    For example edit
    recruit "nomad infantry" 0 requires factions { egypt, seleucid, } and hidden_resource south
    to
    recruit "nomad infantry" 0 requires factions { egypt, seleucid, }

    Be aware though, that if you have more than 32 (or something like that, I don't remember exactly) units in the building queue, the game will crash.
