    Default Wales 1258 [M2TW AAR]

    Hello everyone,

Since I've a lot of free time now (due to holidays and stuff) and in wait for the release of Third Age Total War 2.0 (which is already released now), I started a new campaign.
I read a lot of stories here on the forum of tw center. I thought it would be fun to make a report myself. I've finished part 1 so far, and decided to put it online.

    Details:

    1) Game: Medieval II: Total War - Kingdoms. Britannia.

    2) I did mod the game a little, every turn covers 3 months instead of 1 year, making time go by a little slower.

    3) I picked the Principality of Wales to play for. I just seemed to like them the most.

    4) The story is attached to this thread in a .rar-file. In this .rar-file there is a Word-document were I wrote the story.

    Notes:

    1) In first place, the story is just for fun. I know my writing style isn't that great. My English vocabular and, especially, my grammar s*ck like hell.

    2) All kinds of comments will be appreciated.

    3) I'm not a Total War expert. So my tactics in game can be awfully wrong. I don't mind you to notice my mistakes and help me to keep me from making them in the future.

    4) Next release: Medieval II: Britannia Campaign Story (pt.2). Planned before Saturday 31 July 2010.

    Enjoy,

I think it'd really help if you posted the AAR on the forum itself, so people wouldn't have to download the word document. I mean, from my perspective (since I'm as lazy as hell), it just seems like a lot of work to go through to download the story. Is there anything in the file that prevents you from putting the story on the forums?

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I started to write the AAR just for my own pleasure. I used MS Word. Do you know, if there is an easy way to put up the word document on this site without having a lot of extra work (since pt.1 of my AAR is 26 pages)?
You see, I am lazy as hell too, and don't want to spend a lot of time converting the file.

BTW, theseus, nice AAR you made!

I downloaded it and read it myself, it's very impressive work.

I do agree with Theseus1234 though. In reality, I don't think many people are going to download the file, which is very unfortunate considering the high quality work you have produced here.

I don't think there is an easy way around copying from word, you would have to copy and paste all the text and then upload the images to an image hosting website such as Photobucket or Imageshack

Once the images have been uploaded, you can put them here using the 'insert image' tool in the reply box which wraps the image's address in [img][/img] tags and therefore displays the image.

Example code that would display my signature image below:
    Code:

    Hi Luckylewis,

Thanks for downloading and reading my AAR. And thanks for the good comment.

I can understand why lots of people don't want to download a file. It looks like it will take a lot of time. Still, it really isn't that much of time that's wasted, I think. I downloaded the file, it took 45 seconds.
How long did it take for you to download the file Luckylewis?

But, I'll keep in mind your (Luckylewis and Theseus) comments. For now, I'll finish this story the same way I started it (Word document + download) - in the end, it's just a 'try-out' story. And if there comes a new story one day, I'll sure try to find another way to bring my AAR online.

Last, Luckylewis, your NTW AAR looks really nice. As it's so extensive, it's going to be my 'evening lecture' for the following days.

    Hoi,

I modded the game to 4 turns per year. Now I've just noticed that the agents and generals age, 2 turns per year. So they grow and die really fast. Damn! My next chapter covers a lot of noble deaths.
Next time I'll mod the game to 2 turns per year. I've read somewhere on this forum that that's the 'most' realistic way for agents and generals to age.
Or is there a way to mod general's and agent's aging system?

    (!) New release:

Medieval II - Britannia Campaign Story (pt.2) is finished. See attachment for dowload file.

I'll put up a save game too, this is where I finished off. I want to ask those who are interested, what's going to happen next (maybe make a small AAR about it).

Next release, Medieval II - Britannia Campaign Story (pt.3). Planned before 12 august. This will probably be the last release.

    Hi all,

Thanks for those who downloaded and read the story I wrote. So, I worked on part 3 of the story, but I'm not going to release it (basically, I found it not interesting at all)... In the end, part 2 did have a great ending so, that will suffice.

Next time I'll make a story and release it here on the site without download. But because I've not much time (Music stuff, school stuff - damn, those re-examinations -, etc.), I won't be playing M2TW for a while. I'll still follow the forums though.

    So, cheers you guys!

Ps: For those who want the story to go on, I've put a save game file in one of my previous posts,... So you can continue the story your own way.
