For the Swap factions, I started working on it like 8 months ago, but there was more urgent matters so I didn't continue. And then, the files I used changed so often that by the time I tried to code it a second time, I had to redo everything since the base files were different.
We then decided that it would wait until those files wouldn't move, which means after release. A few things are however already done that we could kept : an icon for Syracuse, and the recruitment of units, since those didn't change?
And just to make thing clearer if Squid wasn't, you will download all those files, just put them in the same folder, and double click on the .exe, and it will install. We could have done a single file, but it is best for everyone to have several smaller ones.

My major problem with mods is installing them so as long as it comes with clear step by step instructions on how to install that will be my biggest fear out of the way.

I see no issue with that as on the release there will be tons of people who have no idea to install it and will be begging and receiving help.Originally Posted by shireknight

Testing can be very time consuming. Even if it 'passes' testing tonight, they'd still have to test the websites they uploaded to and make sure everything was running as intended before releasing the download links.

Well once we have tested the installer we need to upload the installer to multiple sites like megaupload, filefront etc etc. and then download them again from those sites to see if everything worked without any data corruptions.

Its the uploads that are killer, the first test installer I uploaded I had trouble for a few days trying to get it uploaded without it crashing on me, that doesn't include the fact that uploads are slow as molasses on a cold winters day.
