Bastila Shan:
Bastila Shan is the main female character in Knights of the Old Republic. Before the
player frees her on Taris Bastila was a Jedi who sided with the Jedi Council during
the Civil War. A powerful asset, she was a part of the strike team that infiltrated
Darth Revan's vessel with the intent of killing him and Malak. When Malak fired upon
Revan's ship Bastila used the Force to stabilize him and then took him to the Jedi
Council. While temporarily erasing Revan's memories she ended up creating a bond
between herself and the once Dark Lord of the Sith.
After joining the player and assisting him/her in their journey Bastila is eventually
captured by Malak and succumbs to the Dark Side. In the end the player has a few
options in regards of what to do with Bastila. The Star Wars canon ending has her
returning to the Light Side and helping Revan kill Malak; however there are also the
choices to either kill Bastila or - if playing as a Dark Side Revan - join forces
with her.
Kang the Mad:
Kang the Mad is a party member in Jade Empire. Eccentric and absent minded, Kang loves
blowing things up and getting himself lost in a plethora of experiments and inventions.
This hobby got him in trouble when he burned down a number of estates and was set to
be punished - only to be bribed free by Gao the Greater. Although under Gao's service,
Kang hates him and willingly joins the player on their adventure.
Grunt:
A genetically engineered Krogan, Grunt is supposed to be the purest and best example
of the species thanks to the scientist Okeer. Shepard first finds Grunt in his
tank while attempting to recruit Okeer, but during a skirmish with the Blue Suns, Okeer dies.
Not wanting to leave empty handed, Shepard takes Grunt's tank onto the Normandy and
can eventually free the Krogan. Much like the rest of his species, Grunt thirsts for
blood and is anything but polite and level headed.
Sten:
In Dragon Age: Origins Sten is a potential companion near the beginning of the game in
Lothering. A vanguard of the Qunari race, Sten is a disciplined man with a strong
sense of honor - he's also a powerful and intimidating warrior.
Sten is one of the few - if not the only - Qunari in Origins and his and his peoples'
past is a sort of mystery (since you never actually get travel to their land as of yet).
Yet, if the player plays their cards right they can get Sten to reveal more and more
about himself throughout the game.
