Default Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God!

Sermon from Jonathan Edwards, one of the most famous preachers of the Great Awakening (called the Methodist revival in England)

I wish more of our modern preachers were this good.

Bahh, Edwards message was wrong. Though because of him either Harvard or Yale was founded. Just a fact for everyone: Both Harvard and Yale were found to produce Calvanist Minitsters.

God is not a wrathful entity that wants to kill all but the elect. He loves mankind, not hates and wants to give everyone a chance to convert. The who Armageddon thing only happens when mankind reaches the depth of depravity and make the Beast their leader. Then the Jesus returns and there is a millineum of peace until Satan convinces people that they could defeat an omnipotent God.

Jonathan Edwards never disagreed with that principle. He simply emphasized the punishment that those who don't get with the program receive.

He was more of a fire and brimstone preacher though and said that God wanted to smash people like spiders, but decided not too. I prefer a forgivness and remaking of self preacher.

Maybe you're right. But I personally think its more of a warning than a condemnation.

Therefore, let every one that is out of Christ, now awake and fly from the wrath to come. The wrath of Almighty God is now undoubtedly hanging over a great part of this congregation. Let every one fly out of Sodom: "Haste and escape for your lives, look not behind you, escape to the mountain, lest you be consumed."

I guess when kind words don't work it's time to get out the stick and beat the infidels into submission.

Sticks? How simple-minded of you! Christians have far more 'interesting' and 'original' ways of torturing people...

Yes, we have the best way to torture someone, we make tie them to a couch and make them watch EWTN (A Catholic TV channel that has like 24 hour mass) or we watch the adds for Christian Children's Fund all day and night. Wahahahhaha

Look at the story of Noah, that is exactly what will happen in end of days. God was going to destroy the Earth, but Noah was pure, so he spared him. I will come down to a time that there is soo much sin in this world that God will be like, "you know what?", "its time to flush the tiolet" Than he does, the end and we all are torurted for all eternity, except a handful of people who live on the earth with 1000 years of peace, because the devil is chained in hell, than he is realesed and god finally destroys the earth,

Amazing that some people don't believe the Bible.
