Isengard (though I sometimes like to call it Isengrad...you know...for Russianness), by a mile.

Commanding legions of Uruks is beyond awesome, and in the early stages (i.e. before the first barracks event) they are probably the best evil faction, especially with Isengard (the settlement) pumping out 4 units of the highest quality per turn.

Gondor for starting postions, and I tend to like my campaign to be hard, so I give money to mordor so they can attack me, but they never take Cair Andros or cross the river >.<, ah good slaughtering is fun, and constant Heroic victories is a plus

Tough I love the sight of gondors acting like a bastion against the tides, holding off the endless orcs in east osgiliath


Its the roar of the horn striking as my as my horses sweep like a tide over the petty raiders.

Rohans borders are vast but with the strength of rohan, the horse and the rider it responds quickly.

Rohan does not fight small cowardly orcs. We fight the uruk-hai, we fight the well oiled industry of isengard.


But Rohan will always be resilient and stand victorious.

I voted eriador because of their unique position. Lots of territory to expand into and you can conquer the OOTMM and Isengard. Trade settlements with Dwarves/High Elves and generally just be like United Nations of the good side. Hand out swads of cash, buy maps left and right, trade settlements, send out 5 stacks with no financial difficulties (even though they are very mediocre). I don't know I guess I just like the playstyle that I am allowed to perform as Eriador.

2.0 will make this 3x more epic. I would be happy with just the Eriador workover but Arnor re-emergence? +++++++++++++!

Faction: The Kingdom of Gondor.

Reason(s): Gondor has that 'uniform' look about her armies which can only be bested by how, sheerly, effective they are against all of her surrounding enemies. She also has one of the most diverse unit rosters which includes a fair selection of armoured archers, rangers, swordsmen, Knights & dismounted Knights, spearmen and a variety of siege weapons. Gondor also has an amazing position as she is sandwiched between the sea and a reliable ally to the north and aided by a river running east which helps by separating her from the harmful Mordor and Harad. Gondor also has a vast array of RPG elements, including notable heroes including; Boromir, Faramir, Gandalf and Aragorn; of which another branch of depth delves into whether or not he should be returned to the throne of Gondor.

Gondor, in my opinion, is the best faction as she has soo much depth to her!

• Enemies from everywhere at nord, west, east and a bit from south too
• The fun literally come to you: Invasions
• Great story
• Beatiful country, many chokepoints and many ways to expand

• Good various troops: they can face everything, but without super-powered-ninjas-troops like Trolls or Mumaks, Ents...

ootmm without a doubt, having a horde coming out of the mountains to strike terror into the hearts of the free peoples. Especially if you always have a mental image of them being totally unprepared for an attack from an enemy they havent even considered.
Also the challenge is immense, every victory is an achievement in itself!

Isengard because the Uruk-hai while having the savageness of an orc, also have the discipline of man and relatively good armor.

Mine would be;
Dale:
As they have access to all classes, a strong starting point, close to wealthy provinces, castles close by to produce good sized stacks, opponents near enough to battle more than occasionally (unlike the west) and you can play a 'lore' game with little effort.
If you aid Gondor you end up with a few strong provinces to make for some very stronge Trade-offs for gold.

Harad:
Corsairs, Mumakil, Strongest defensive positioning on the map, easily a trade leader, strong enemy Gondor to make the game interesting.

The faction i chose
Rohan:
To be in the middle of the map, with factions at your door knocking fromt he get-go, and alliances to maintain and keep happy, LOADS of rebels to dominate, and an average opertunity to get rich as the econemy seems ballanced well with troop refresh rates and how often you loose your troops!
It is not the hardest faction, but it is always very challenging, you dont get any decent infantry, and the archers are not very good, but the Cavalry are insanely powerful (unless you try to go against trolls) and make up the middle ground of Rohan's many weaknesses.
