Compensating Germany is not what i really want from a nation that was planning an invasion.

The pressure of death (not literally).

No nations, except Germany will go to war if i dont compensate. But no nation will help either, since i initiated (at least technically) hostilities. Norway vs HRE? I lose.

Germany might invade in the future, but i dont see any nations who would have an interest in having an enormous HRE in the background. I might get alot more support in the future. And no, i dont give a if HRE likes me, this is for my long-term interests.

Doesn't sound like it'd be a good idea to pay him then.

Rather, you should use the precious opportunity, while Germany is temporarily weakened, to build up your forces to defend your territory should Germany threaten war again.

came to finish me off. Now the costellation is me vs you,

in another army ( which i planned to do) to invade you ( which i did not plan to do) ,
we two could ally as well, thus eliminating the danger of an incoming attack.
I could build churches and farms from the money, and make screenshots of the process

As to MoD's point, thats why im not paying HRE that much. He is lucky to get something out of this. Except a protracted war.
