The war has begun, the sequel to the first war has been awakened, ready to teach mankind another bloody lesson.
Conflicts arose, and above all else, the German War Machine armed itself for the second time, and the people, just like their fathers, were prepared to fight to the last man...and beyond.
Poland will be the first target. These peasants have always been a thorn in our side, stealing land and making pleas to the West for hundreds of years. From the Holy Roman Empire, to the Teutonic Order, to Prussia and now to Germany, the Poles have been our arch enemy. It is in the blood.
War begins, the Invasion of Poland will consist of 5 Armies, equivalent to an Army Group. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th armies, under Field Marshals Leeb, Rundstedt, Himmler, Kluge and List, roll forward into Polish territory. The peasants have barely been able to muster an army to harry our advance and it is quick, we quickly assert our control under our newly conquered territory. What land we take back, we will never return.
The Western Allies respond, war springs up between us and France, backed by their English allies and the Commonwealth nations. France can wait.
Along with war will come the rise of a new era. An era of superhuman military power, and technological advancement. Our soldiers are armed with the newest and greatest weapons, and we are even looking to improve them. There is always room for improvement.
Von Leeb and the 1st Army meet the first line of Polish resistance at Czestochowa. An army under Smigly-Rydz, Poland's best general, is engaged quickly overrun with our advanced use of mobile infantry. The Polish army is forced to abandon the city and fall back to Krakow, Poland's second city. The 1st Army is quick to pursue Polish further into their territory. They will have no rest.
To the north, Himmler and his 3rd Army hit the Poles at Poznan. The Poles are quickly outgunned and outmatched, and the battle lasts hours before the nearly half of the Polish army is destroyed, the other half fleeing east to Lodz. The Polish centre has been quickly breached and our armies now have access to the Polish heartland. This is far easier than we expected.
To the north, the Soviet Communists gain a large amount of success on the diplomatic front. The Baltic States are rightfully Russian and under the threats of invasion, the largest of the three states, Latvia, buckles to the Soviet threat and cedes their territories, ceasing to be an independant nation anymore. Along with their success comes the Lithuanian territories ceding Memel to us. They will probably fall to Rus soon anyway.
On the Polish front, 16 days have passed since the declaration of war and the Western Allies have yet to do anything to save their Polish allies. The only aid that has come to the Polish is an Australian Fighter Squadron that hasn't actually even flew into action yet.
The Polish completely collapses. In Bydogszcz, the Polish army is successfully routed, and turned to face north. Now 11 Polish divisions, 1/5 of their army, will be trapped in the Danzig pocket. A perfect example of Blitzkrieg. They will be dealt with soon. The Polish northern flank has also collasped, opening a huge hole in the Polish lines. List's 5th Army takes advantage of the situation and strikes directly at Warsaw, the Polish capital. Our forces outnumber the defending Poles who never expected an assault on the Capital this quickly.
The first sign of help from the Western Allies arrives on the 23rd of September. A Canadian Marine force lands and quickly gains a foothold in Hamburg. The assault was completely unexpected and the prospect of a German city falling to the Allies is unbearable, but luckily a large force awaits nearby the city and is quickly ordered to drive the Canadians into the ocean.
By the 25th, the entire Polish front has collasped. The Polish Southern Flank has been breached while our main armies continue to move in on the centre. Krakow remains as a salient in our territory, but the Vistula river has been nearly forced.
The 4th Army under Kluge now moves north to deal with the Danzig salient.
On the 26th, the Polish lose Warsaw, Radom and Ciezysn, trapping another 9 divisions in Lodz who surrender the next day.
Two days later, the Canadian foothold has been destroyed and the Marine force have either been killed or captured. Meanwhile, 11 Polish divisions surrender in Danzig to the 4th Army. Now little more than 30 divisions remain in the Polish Army, most of which are close to destruction or are fleeing and scattered. The fate of Poland has been sealed.
During the last couple of days, the French have been launching frequent attacks on the Western Front...air attacks. The Luftwaffe is superior to the French Airforce and the city of Prague is successfully defended numerous times from the French pilots. If the French wish to pointlessly waste their airforce before the war truly begins, then they are fools indeed.
By the beginning of October, the Polish are close to utter defeat. Krakow and Sandomierz remain as a huge salient in the German front and should the supply lines be severed in Sandomierz or Rowne, another 10 divisions will be trapped and destroyed. It is only a matter of time before the end of the Polish is reality. None can resist the Iron Fist of the German Reich!
