    They don't need to limit arty they need to make arty less of a laser guided missile and more of a saturation weapon. As it is now it can be unfun to play in matches with arty. They make everyone cluster in the same few spots on each map. This leads to more camping, not less as it's intended to.

    I disagree. Artillery is so annoying when it's a game of luck with no skill attached. Make artillery accurate but do one of two things:

    - Sharply decrease max realistic damage, so that each hit does around 10-15% of a tank's hp - balance it with a higher RoF of course
    - Have a minimum and maximum distance for indirect fire. E.g. You can only hit targets between 200-400m (just an example). This would require artillery to move around in battle and make their role more challenging.

    Just saw this on Silentstalkers blog. They're apparently working on a big overhaul of some of the game mechanics.

    In short:
    Gun Accuracy
    - Percentage of shells landing at outer edge of aiming circle decreased from 19.4% to 4.6% (way more accuracy on all guns!)
    - Chance for shells to fly anywhere in the aiming circle will be normalized; no more higher chance for them to hit the edge of the circle than anything else (doesn't that mean that there's currently a higher chance for edge-of-circle shots than other ones?)
    - To balance out, overall shell dispersion will be increased
    - These changes don't apply to SPGs

    HEAT shells
    - HEAT shells will ricochet on angles higher than 80°
    - HEAT shells will lose 5% of penetration power for every 100mm they travel after penetration
    - HEAT shell force will be more dependent on angle between armour and point of penetration
    - Tracks are counted as spaced armour for HEAT shells

    Camouflage
    - Camouflage net and paintjobs will no longer provide a percentage increase to camouflage dependent on the original camouflage value of the vehicle, but a fixed increase instead
    - Effect of camouflage net/paintjobs will be made dependent on vehicle class (i.e. TDs get the highest bonus)
    - To compensate, camouflage bonus of bushes and fallen trees will be reduced

    XP/Credits Income
    - TDs and SPGs will receive equal percentages of experience as all other vehicles; this means a 33% buff for TDs and 50% buff for SPGs
    - tracking enemies and/or keeping them tracked so allies can damage them will be rewarded with bonus credits and xp similar to spotting

    I thought this game wasn't still in beta. This is the **** that drives me crazy. Not that i don't like some of these things, but they are constantly tinkering with stuff like they are in full blown beta. When are they going to get to a point where they say "Ok, we have a game. Now we just need to focus on adding stuff."?

    Couldn't have said it better. Artillery in this game is just retardedly accurate and only causes stalemates.

    Those changes are looking really nice, especially the TD/SPG xp bonus was needed (defo for TD's)

    So you get tracked by the first shot and instead of being killed by the subsequent 1-2 you have to wait for 10? Take a French SPG for example most reload faster than my crew with 5 members at 100% repair can repair a broken track so if I've already had to use the repair kit I'm dead no matter what. What incentive does that give me to leave cover? None. I'll just sit in cover and either not shoot anything else or wait for them to come to me.
