Hello members of CdeC,

I am before you to present my application for citizenship here at TWC.

First I will tell you a few things about myself.

• I joined TWC last year because I was disappointed in ETW vanilla, and sought a mod to improve my experience. I discovered Darthmod, and then others for my previous TW titles. I felt inspired and humbled by the length these people went to to improve the gaming experience of others. It is this initial experience with the TWC community that has framed my experience ever since.

• I don't quite have the words to express how uncomfortable I feel promoting my work here in this fashion. I work hard, and have improved my skills here at TWC, but at my very core I know mine is a support role to the people doing what I consider the real work: modding.

• I am not a modder. I am a writer, an artist, and a teacher. My main purpose here at TWC is to support modders and creative writers, to showcase the work and talent of those people who have made playing TW games so enjoyable for me. I have done this through my own writing (AARs, TOTW, content articles) and through producing various videos. These videos are used by the modders in their threads (and sometimes embedded in the game itself) to help advertise and demonstrate what their mod does and what it looks like.

• I will save you the trouble of searching for my contributions to the debating sections of TWC - I have none of any note or significance. Debating elections or Balkan politics is a passionate sport for many around here and I am glad that people have places like that to contribute to the site if that is their wish. But my time and priorities have and will remain in the writing, artist and modding sections of TWC.

• I am interested in citizenship primarily to participate in the votes in the Curia, because there are some proposals there that have real implications for the corners of the TWC where I, and the people who's work I respect most, live. If I want to have a real impact on these decisions, then I cannot sit on the sidelines and let other people do all the work...I need to participate.

• I put participation far above winning. I hardly ever win anything. But I enjoy participating and making competitions fun, whether they be MAARC, Pic of the Week or Tale of the Week. I believe in being active, setting ego aside, and celebrating the talented contributions of my competitors. Like a typical Canadian, I don't need gold... I just like to be invited .

• My YouTube channel, the content of which consists exclusively of material produced at and for TWC (every one of my public vids ends with a screen advertising TWC), has over 100,000 views since my first upload in February. I have heard from scores of gamers on Youtube who, upon watching my vids, have bought TW just to access the TWC mods I have advertised.

Ultimately, I prefer to be judged on my character more than my work. I invite you to touch base with those people I consider my clients to get a picture of how I operate...DARTH VADER, Katsumoto, ToonTotalWar, any of the others. As well, when you search through my posting history, you will find that much of my time is spent encouraging the hard work of others and providing moral as well as practical support. My video trade has no secrets...every trick in my book has always been open to all others (see my Gallery and Tech Help link below).

I wish to have my application made public regardless of the outcome, and as early in the process as possible within current CdeC policy.

RECENT MAJOR WORKS

Lead Professor of the TWC University Course "Making Total War Videos with Movie Maker"...course completed June 16; 14 participants; narrated and produced instructional videos (ex 1,2,3,4) made specifically for the course; I could not have run this course without the invaluable help of my two assistants MasterBigAb and LuckyLewis.

NTW Motion Picture "Poets of the Realm" (fall 2010 release)...trailer for the upcoming 2 hour movie that is currently in production.

NTW Motion Picture "Debts of Honour"...a one-hour movie I wrote and produced; over 300 hours of work to create; received a prize and an award from CA; several mods showcased and credited in this movie; can also be found in the scriptorium.

Tale of the Week Promo...an ad I produced for Mega and Hesus and Co. to increase awareness and participation in the TOTW competitions.

Darthmod GOLD Edition Promo and In-Game Intro Video...the promo won the first TWC Video of the Month.

AAR: Skies Over Leningrad (in progress)...my current non-TW AAR; placed 2nd in the MAARC XX, the first time a non-TW AAR has cracked the top three in MAARC competitions.

VOTM Voter Appreciation Vid...a showcasing of the wonderful entries for the 2nd VOTM.

Gallery and Tech Help Thread...my thread where fellow video artists gather and discuss production issues, and can view my work. The main draws of the thread, however, are the sections for specific vid technical help (VIDEO TECH HELP TOPICS and POSTS), and the ongoing MOD REVIEWS for VIDEO MAKERS where the features of different mods are presented that are of specific interest to vid artists. Several machinimists, to that point only familiar with my work at YouTube, have visited and registered at TWC specifically for this tech-help section.

Community Building is something that I strongly believe is required to ensure the longterm viability of our home here at TWC. I believe you will find that the Nanny fits this role of "Community Builder" to a tee. Through both encouragement and lending aid where his talents allow, Nanny inspires those around him to reach out and attain greater things. Nanny is a kind and gentle person. These qualities shine through and follow him wherever he goes.

His work in the University was exemplary, he put together a class and stuck with it, all whilst having to coordinate with two other Professors and teach a fairly difficult skill set. Even without that though there's plenty to see here, so a unanimous confirmation vote should surprise no one.

Even if the four members of the CdeC who did not have a chance to vote on his application voted no or abstained, he'd still pass for citizenship. Additionally, 2/3rds of the CdeC did vote. So I'm content to let this application bypass the need for a second vote. Do all yall agree to doing this?

That is an assumption; not something I am willing to overlook. While I am willing to restart this poll, I'm not willing to say that someone would have voted when in fact I don't know if they would have or not.
