This debate is regarding whether if russ had faced of with horus, what would have been the out come, considering he was scared of russ so much so he lauched his attack early so avoiding a conflict with russ returning from prospero...

Sanguinius wielded a sword during the heresy. The spear was used during the Great Crusade against the Slaughter-Lord Morroga on Baal itself.

During the Hersy it was lost and so Sanguinius instead wielded the Blade Encarmine.

First, Horus had him ambushed (he was, at the time, Horus' best friend) and had a greater demon break both his legs; then Sanguinius fought off hordes at the entrance to the Emperor's Palace; and only then did he face off against Horus. And he couldn't possibly have expected Horus would kill him, they were best friends!

Leman, if he had been there, would've handed Horus' ass to him on a silver platter. Leman was the strongest of all the Primarchs; and would have -at the very least- managed to hold Horus off till the Emperor showed up for a double-team.

For the love of the Emperor, that was the first and most badass version...no need to swear ...That Guardsman has been swapped, for an Imperial Fists Terminator and then for a Custodes allright?
So why should I understand that you meant that kickass Guardsman, since it's no longer canon????

This leads me on the the one thing thats really bugs me about the Emperor Vs. Horus fight:

Why did it take the uncaring death of a Custode to make the Emperor believe Horus was truly evil. I mean the betrayal, untold billions of deaths, destruction of 3 legions (And death of Ferrus), the fact he sided with the Emperors ultimate enemy, and most important of all the fact that he was standing over Sanguinius' dead body. I mean surely he should have destroyed Horus there and then rather than getting mauled and then getting mad over the death of a single Custode.

Its ok as long as we can all agree that it took more balls for that guardsman to do that than the stuff they replaced him with. they replaced the saint of the imperial guard who stood defiant in front of a chaos infused primarch to protect his emperor despite the fact that he could not do , with a spess mehreen, just because spess mehreens are more suitable? in what context would they be more suitable?

well i theorize that the death of that guardsman gave him the final push to stop getting owned and erase horus from existance. I theorize that since ollanius stood between horus and the emperor despite the fact that he was about as much of a threat as a civilian and horus then wiping the floor with his courageous ass convinced the emperor that Horus did not even care about saint-like bravery and selflessness. No doubt the emperor felt that he should have been the one to protect humanity instead of the other way around, and thus he got so sadfaced over that poor dude that he deleted Horus.
