Anyway, I'm guessing this is a glitch but my new king in my Wales from Dublin game can marry his own sister, or is it just like a matter of I'm the king I can do what I want? I mean the empress of Byzantium is eligible even if not great stats but she is still a child after all but she won't consent to marriage unless matrilineal, although I guess that makes sense.

You cannot marry close relatives unless you use the console command that allows it. I suppose it is a bug.

Is there any advantage to marrying off relatives of your dynasty when you know you won't gain any titles or lands out of succession? Does it add to your dynasty's points?

Alliances, if you get marriages that keep your dynasty children it'll enhance your score I think, getting rid of annoying family members.

Republics give you money so you won't join embargo wars against them. I usually get money from Pisa right after genoa has asked me to embargo them.

No mods, just DLC's (excepting Sunset Invasion of course, wouldn't want the Aztecs disrupting my Empire after all). The dynasty was made by ruler designer, the Emperor is Pyrrhos Aecidos (I tried to Greek-ify Pyrrhus of Epirus and Alexander the Great's house).


Of course, I would like my capital to be Rome, but its a Church holding with a clergyman in charge there.

You can turn Rome into a normal county. Simply own that Bishopric which is currently primary, and then revoke barony of Tusculum. It will change to a normal feudal county. Then you can give away the bishopric to anyone you want like all other bishoprics.

I notice that since Republic DLC and the patch that came along with it, republics are being overpowered. Especially in Africa.

I found out there was a special action I could use in the intrigue tab that brought Rome back under my personal control, so now my capital is Rome.

However, that independence faction is growing worryingly huge. All I can do when they ask for independence kill their leader just as the war starts.

Yes, I'm pretty late, but I also decided to begin with a Duchy. In the next week I plan on penetrating into France and possibly Spain, as well as securing the remainder of Italy.

Of course, all I want to do is drive out those German barbarians from Italy!

If you want to drive out HRE, capture Iberia. They are good troop provider.

Oh, and my levy count ROSE TO 400, it was 183 when I formed Roman Empire. I can easily crush any possible force that dares show it's face. Only thing is that gathering them all together takes a long time.

I also have 148 vassals now. This time, I didn't form any kingdoms and destroyed the ones I captured. It is tedious to manage so many people, but at least they won't act crazy and keep declaring wars on their own.

Another thing is that I want to clamp down and control Rome more through increasing crown authority. Is there a way to do it without provoking independence or the lower crown authority faction?

Why can't they put aside their selfish ends for the glory of Rome?
