    Default Biggest natural economy?

All economies get very big as the game goes on and infrastructure improves. My question is this:

Assuming each side expanded to it's natural expansion points(So no rebels left. Imagine all factions are A.I and thus occupy their 'proper' areas immediately) and their economies were then ramped up, which would be the biggest? Would the leader change as towns/castles finally grew, or stay the same?

We say a faction can have a 'strong' or 'weak' economy....let's get some facts and numbers on it, eh?

Gondor, the High Elves and Harad are the richest, if that's what you mean. They all have acces to sea trade, which generates a lot of wealth. Gondor also has many small towns, which will generate more income as they grow.

I think you are forgetting Dale, they have one hell of an income lategame (if they still exist) and if they beat Rhûn they make loads of money by trading across the sea of Rhûn.

Gondor can't even support its settlements and it armies, how's it meant to get a big economy?

Any faction starting off with a of land (Gondor, Mordor, Harad, Rhun, OOTMM and Rohan) will go bankrupt straight away whenever I play them and thats without recruiting units, only building.

Then you're really doing something wrong. I turn most of my cities to low taxes (especially small ones) and make tons of money after a few turns (about 20). Never go bankrupt at all. (Playing RR/RC).

It's pretty easy to get a booming economy going late game but, I think Dale may take the cake. I've never been richer with any other faction in this game.

I'd have to say Rhun, tons of settlements that grow really fast if taxes are lowered, Once you take Khand you get access to like 3 or 4 gold mines, the sea trade, its just a great faction and generates tons of wealth. Plus given the right units you don't need more than 2 stacks to fight Dale

Usually. I've read around a bit, saw that really detailed Gondor guide that still applies now. I'm not basing this question on anything, I just would like to see numbers on how the economy improves over time for factions in their 'natural' sttates.

None of you considered eriador? i'd be flooding in 200k cash by turn 50 even when building everything. Granted I only make like 3 fullstacks each time but still.

    Eriador is sick.

I don't think anybody considered Eriador because nobody plays Eriador as of yet.

when i gave up on my Dale campagin at turn 130 something or other (i was steam rolling the world, but i got fed up when the dwarfs turned on the silvan elves, and i was growing tired of the campagin anyway)i owned all of rhuns formor lands, all the rebel regions in reach, as well as most of mordor, bar Barad Dur and the castle in south itilian, i was making between 10-12k (i cant remember) each turn, and thats while maintaining 5 full stacks of fairly elite troops, as well as at least another fll stacks worth of troops garrisoning settlements around my empire

Ok I stand corrected, allow me to correct myself. I don't think anybody considered Eriador because 99.9% of TATW players have not played Eriador as of yet. And unless you make it to turn 50, it doesn't count.

I have no idea what the best economy is, however I can voice my opinion at the worst economy; Mordor. They rot..If I am ever tempted to do a money cheat its when playing Mordor..

Any factions with access to sea trade fairly easy(without huge number of battles) and starts in decent position.

    This would be;

High Elves, Harad- Gondor start position is bad and most money is required to fight instead of develop economy early though they boom later.

Dale, Rhun- Sea of Rhun and decent start positions.

Dwarves, Eriador, Isengard- Dwarves can expand towards Rhun or in the west with sea access. Eriador and Isengard have equal opportunity to develop with good sea access but not that great of position early though any veteran TW player the position is not really bad either.

Gondor- start position is poor but if defend for a few turns can really boom well and if capture parts of Harad easily very rich.

Mordor, OotMM, Riders all centrally located and enemies close by- its a fight to get good economy with all 3 but certainly possible, just will take longer than the other factions.
