Bump. Added the faction coat of arms.
WOW that picture is big!!!! I will reduce the size sometime within the next few days.
I wouldn't recommend using the IYI for the Bulgarian Tsardom. While it was kept in use for some time after the conversion, sometimes combined with crosses, and while we're not absolutely sure what it means exactly, it's usually considered to be a Pagan symbol of the old Bulgar God and thus rather unfitting for a Christian country ruled by one of its most pious rulers. It's recommendable to use some other symbol, like a single standing lion (like this one from 1295, although it's considerably later) or eventually this symbol of Tsar Samuil (should be still a nobleman's son during the start date though).
Good work!
One little thing:
The Frisian Coat of Arm is not very accurate, They were Christian at this time.
Also the The picture of Odin riding on Sleipnir fits better for Sweden.
Alright, thank you Nike I like the look of the latter one better. Too many lion faction symbols!!
Yeah, it does fit Sweden a little better but I went on the basis of the Ynglinga saga, and used Freyr's Boar instead - since they were said to have been descended from Freyr himself
Yes, Frisia was christian at the time, but very newly christian They were only converted in the 800's (IIRC), so i'm sure there was quite a large pagan population still. On top of that, all the Danes and Norwegians settling there, there was bound to be some pagan contacts through that as well. So that is what i'm basing my reasoning for Frisia to be pagan on So their family members will be a hodge-podge mix between native Frisians, Danes, and Norse! At least, that's what I was thinking...
It still dosent fit with the Frisians,
1. Charlemagne forced the Frisians & the Continental Saxons to convert to Christianity, most of Frisians were christian at the start of the mod's timeline.
The only few pagans in Frisia would be Danish settlers and mercenaries.
2. The picture of Odin riding on Sleipnir is from a Swedish runestone.Charlemagne regarded the repelling of pagan invaders and their absorption and conversion as part of his obligation as defender of the faith and he forced the Saxons and Frisians to convert to Christianity
3. Also Frisia was part of the Frankish Empire.

The Frisian Flag fits better. It's from the 11th century
Hmm... Okay. But..... what if i made them a duel faction? I mean, if they somehow got a Danish/Norse ruler... I think they should have the option of converting But I will definitely change the Swedish and Frisian COA. Thanks for your input mate
Edit:
So I had a cool idea
When the first faction ruler dies, Frisia can have the option to elect a pagan leader, or keep a christian one. Obviously the pagan choice will greatly affect their relations with the Franks and other Christians - but will gain support from Pagans. what say you?!

Yes I retextured his armor to be Golden Lamellar, and gave him a blonde head (with a beard I believe?) I love it! Here's a pic of the captain model:
He is based off the King Hakon model of Kingdoms - using a face from the Wrath of The Norsemen team, and armor from Saxon Huscarl!

this is indeed going to be interesting! this is good because it takes a broader view of Europe at this ( the scope of the map) time than many other mods which satellite (or orbit around) the same general theme~ very unique approach to this era!
good luck with this Heathen!
Bump. Changed the number of turns to a total of 800, so it will be 4 turns per year. Fighting season lasted until fall, so that the men could harvest before winter comes. So, winter will restrict movement by 25%. So if your off a-viking, you better find a place to make camp!

Hey everyone, long time lurker first time poster here etc etc
Love the look of the mod! It's exactly what I've been looking for basically ever since M2 came out, should be amazing when it's finished! I've noticed a couple of things about Scotland so far that I could point out. Firstly the right Gaelic name would be Rģoghachd na h-Alba, not just Rģoghachd a Alba. Also, by 968 the Norse would have controlled Sutherland (the far North of Scotland) for almost a century along with the Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland. Pretty minor things really in the whole scale of things, but I felt I should point them out!
