Ive seen the ostrogoths emerge once when I was playing the goths. They were weak and inconsequential for the remainder of the game. (which wasnt long cuz I got bored playing the Goths quickly)

they only appear if i am the goths myself. And i have to help them appear by taking a small town and make it as angry as possible. I like to have alot of factions running around

I am playing as ERE and there is a town just north of the Danube (Dacian), which I sacked,with the title:blablabla(Rebels:Ostrogoths)

yeah, just like ere get east roman rebels, goths get orstro goths. I always hit them as romans (and i did as samaratans), b/c i like spies, and the goths always get hit by a bunch of hordes. it's frankly annoying b/c after ive finally wiped out the gothic horde, then i have to work on the ostrogoth horde. The key to wiping out hordes (in my opinion) is a good commander that can night battle.
