    Default The Daimyo Models

One thing I really hope CA does is give each of the Daimyo/clan leaders for all of the playable factions a unique model on the campaign map and battle map that looks different then the other clan leaders and regular generals. Lets face it, if there is only one culture who wants to see them all use the same model but a different color. Some of the Daimyo had wicked armor during this period and it would be cool if each faction leader had his own unique looking armor.

I've always hated the fake hair/moustaches etc on their armor, everything else I love.

damm they look badass, like the one in black 3th from the top left

as you say it could be a awesome feat, as costum models.

and since they are in NTW then I se no reason why it shouldent be a feature in STW2

They look awsome - could be nice to see a guy in that armor running around on the battlefield

Hot, 2nd one is Nanban-do gusoku (aka the Plate Mail Samurai that got influenced by the Portuguese).

Really hope if CA includes armor style evolution from the period in the tech tree (do-maru to Okegawa-do) we get to see a visual reflection of that armor in our units/generals as we upgrade (as well as the improved protection and mobility). It's the small details that add a nice touch.

Why does the last one look like a pig?
Dominion of Dust. A city of sand. Built your world of nothing. So how long did it stand?
A 100 years? Now wasn't it grand? Built your world of nothing. How long did it stand?
What did you think would happen? When did you think it would all fall down?
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Did yourself right, so let's feel grand.
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Now there's nowhere left to stand.

The unique generals was one of the coolest features in NTW imo and according to the latest blog CA wants to make STW2 the most immersive Total War game ever. Giving faction leaders unique models on the campaign and battle map is a good place to start unless CA has something more spectacular planed.

    Looking cool!

I'm no expert of Japan and so on, but to be honest: The armor of the 2. picture (from left), I mean these polished breastplate there, it looks quite European stuff like and not really Japanese as the other.

That looks like a hint of Spanish was added.

You mean Tokugawa Ieyasu, Date Masamune, Imagawa Yoshimoto, Honda Tadakatsu, and Takeda Shingen?

Like was said earlier in an earlier post, it was made to replicate the steel cuirass of the Portuguese.

Ok, didn't get it there and of course logical, because Portugal was in this age there too as most peole here now. Thanks!

Is it true that these things were RIDICULOUSLY strong and can stop low-calibre bullets? I heard somewhere that they made a mock-up using the traditional techniques (noone's going to shoot an ACTUAL set of armour!) and it stopped bullets up to a certain range and calibre

Good News, guys: I know NOTHING of Japanese history, so you all get to show off your knowledge by routinely teaching me all the stuff!

hey, even glass and cotton will stop bullets "up to a certain range"

    it depends on the range.

Musket balls at typical range? No way. Musket balls at very long range? Probably.

    Yeah, you're probably right.

    But a man can dream!

I HAVE A DREAM THAT ONE DAY, MY CHILDREN WILL RIDE OUT AGAINST THE ARMIES OF DARKNESS ATOP STEEDS OF PUREST WHITE, CLAD IN SHINING, BULLET-PROOF SAMURAI ARMOUR, WITH THE BANNERS OF ALL THE FLAGS IN THE WORLD FLUTTERING IN THEIR WAKE

RIDE OUT AGAINST THE EVIL ONES!

Sorry, what? Where was I? I went into a dream...
