battle variety

I was thinking about a campaign map game play feature that would allow for limited engagements and skirmishes by capping troop levels at certain points in the map. For instance a valley, marshlands or a mountain pass could only support a partial stack at a time. This type of feature would create a much needed diversity on the battlefield, so not every single engagement is at a full stack level. Of course this would have to be done sensibly and not all over the place.
