I have given you a source. You need to learn for yourself and not rely on what someone else says. Me listing every Irishmen during a time period does neither of us any good. Listen to the audio book. Check his facts. Then put together a rebuttal based on facts that might differ from what you heard.
Oh, for Heaven's sake, now you're being deliberately stupid.

Hardly spanning the world in any case. Cuba is not an American possession. Neither is Panama. Hawaii had to vote to become a state as well as the other states mentioned. And America took 99 percent of the country by force; doesn't make it an empire spanning the globe now does it?

Ok, and if I find one single Irishman of international fame (apart from our blessed St Patrick) then I will let you know, apologise and add those characters to the mod. Alas I won't be adding any form of Irish faction to the mod despite my Irish blood, my Irish friends or the fact that Braveheart raised some very valuable points about Celtic greatness and their oppression by the English. Now, I'm going to watch Generation Kill and see if I can learn something about the US and A
Aren't you just relying on what Thomas Cahill says or did you do all the research yourself? Thomas Cahill writes popular history for a broad audience. His work is not particularly scholarly but it is not inaccurate either. It's usually the titles that are a little overstated for the sake of marketing. Maybe that's why they make the bestseller lists so often. I haven't read his Irish book, but I thumbed through it at Border's Books once. It backs up the fact that Ireland was not insignificant but it doesn't make any ridiculous claims about Ireland being a regional power so I'm not sure why you're citing it.
