    Default Japanese War movie suggestions? RAN/Seven Samurai?

    I have ordered RAN. Can borrow Seven Samurai and just borrowed the Tom Cruise movie off a friend last night.
    Are their any other must watch Samurai movies. Preferably good battle scenes and more real than cheesy acting. Their are many recent chinese ancient setting war films that are good watching, I always cringe at the bits of pure fantasy they throw in jacky chan style though.

    I would like a film that matches for instance what ARN and ARN2 would be for medieval films.

    Lone Wolf and Cub (Kozure Ōkami)- I think there is 6 movies in the series.
