    Best beers IMO :

(Cisk is a Maltese beer...REALLY good, but kinda watery at some point)

And I know it kinda says "guinnes not allowed" but I simply LOVE this beer

Yes, Cisk is a decent beer. Remember drinking a load of this when in Malta.

Kozel is my favourite brew. Won Czech beer of the year. Luckily its brewed in a nearby town so all the local alehouses have it on tap, as opposed to the Pilsner/Staropramen monster in Prague alehouses.

Here are two beers I've tried recently. I'll post reviews, that I also post on Facebook's beer application, soon.

I love "hybrid" beers, like the last one I posted, the Brooklyn-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse. It's a pale ale/hefeweizen hybrid.

That's interesting, seeing as how the Egyptians drank a lot of beer and the Founding Fathers did as well. Hell, you can find George Washington's recipe for his porter.

Or a pilsner. Those get "skunky" easily, especially if they're low quality. If you haven't drank it, don't bash it, especially in a thread about it.

Haha. If it smells bad, it probably tastes bad too. But who knows as you say, it might just be the brand.

Probably. I'm guessing it was a cheap lager that you smelled. I rarely drink cheap lagers anymore. My cheap beer is Schlitz and that's the only cheap stuff I drink even though I don't think it tastes too terrible. But there are other types of beers that wouldn't EVER smell like piss. Smell an imperial stout. Those will smell like coffee/chocolate.

Ah, I had the Orval before. Ah, I've found my review of it on Facebook.

First of all, a warning: TAKE IT EASY WHEN POURING THIS BEER! The Orval Trappist Ale is one of those Belgians that produces a massive head if you don't pour it carefully. Pour slowly so you don't end up filling up the bottle opening and then having it come out in waves, thus creating an overly massive head. That being said, the head on this is simply beautiful. It's so frothy that it is almost a creme. It fizzles away oh-so-slowly and keeps its form. The head is almost like an appetizer to the beer!

The beer is a copper-orange color that has a steady but minimal amount of bubbles rising from the bottom. I have this Orval in my glass goblet. I can smell the beer from where I am sitting. It smells as a Belgian ought to smell: fruity, sweet, and just a whiff of alcohol. Wow! This is an interesting beer. It reminds me a bit of Brooklyn's Local #1. There is a lot of orange citrus flavor and the bubbly carbonation excites the tongue. Some peppery hoppiness is evident too.

This is an extremely dry Belgian. It's smooth but probably the driest Belgian I've had. I don't taste any of the alcohol which isn't bad or good. Dry, orangey, sour, and peppery. That sums up this interesting brew. Good stuff.

    I gave it 3.5/5 stars.

I was wondering where in the world people love pale ales other than the United States. I know that the British drink them but aren't too big on them being too hoppy. They love their ales so much! It's been my experience that many Americanslove a very hoppy pale ale (or IPA).

That being said, I haven't met many beer drinkers other than Americans, Canadians, Brits, and Czechs (and the only Russians I've met just drank vodka).

    Looks awsome
Does any internationally recognised supermarket sell it?

    Like LIDL or so?

In Malta, we're really limited to famous beers and alot of Maltese beer

Orval is a Trappist Ale from Belgium... An order of Trappist monks brew it from a recipe dating back to 1070. I would give it 4.5/5! Maltese Pale Ale...sounds interesting.
