As the title says. And please tell us also why - I´m curious.
Or should I better ask, who can get it working with modern PC´s?
It's really buggy on newer OS, so no, I haven't played it in a few years.
Even then, I'm not sure it has aged well.
I haven't played main in ages either, but I think should do fine in Windows XP.
I am still playing it ,although,i am hoping for a replacament (ETW and NTW).
And,about the 'technical' part,-i am one of those basterds with old pc-s.(replacament coming soon too,or,at least i hope )
I have it somewhere and i thought to do so ... but I do not find it

I can't stand the graphics, or the one-province movements.
alhoon is not a member of the infamous Hoons: a (fictional) nazi-sympathizer KKK clan. Of course, no Hoon would openly admit affiliation to the uninitiated.
"Angry Uncle Gordon" describes me well.

______ (answers please )
Uesugi 4 life
I bought it years ago after playing medtw but never really got onto it, however iam looking forward to it
but to be honest I have had hopede for rometw2
My clan was Takeda, while i enyojed Mojo too.
Back than, and now,STW was my favorite, but i am realy looking forward to ETW.(a bit to advanced for my pc,so it is going to have to wait)
But,i dont like the fact that many new players dislike STW,only beacouse of its graphic look.
I wish I could, I would be playing if I could, but I can't because of that mouse pointer problem that is common in modern computers..
I certainly would if I still had it.
Yes,I still have my copy from 9 years ago now(wow, that long ago!!)& still play it.
I can also run it with no real problems.I have XP Sp3 & an Ati 4850 card.No mouse pointer problems.I think this happens more with Nivida cards(could be wrong)
What would be cool is in the run up to S2TW,they release a patch for the original to be played with higher OS's & graphic cards.I know this has been asked many times before but maybe they might do it this time.

S:TW and M:TW are really dodgy on the newer OSs, or Drivers, videocards, whatever. I can;t get them to play right.
Bought it after M1TW as well(didnt even have a pc when Shogun originally came out)but i couldnt get over the graphics tbh, even not with the good gameplay and campaign immersions that Shogun has, plus, for me at least the overall unfamiliarity with Feudal Japan !
But im ready for it now ! hehehe
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.
A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."
Well obviously the graphics are a pain when being used to newer ones.
But I grow up with older games (Sim City2000 or Age of Empires II being my favourites) so they don´t hurt me that much. And the one-province movements is one of the key parts why I still play STW and MTW. I find that superior to the newer games.
I still play now and again. Definately going to get back into it in the lead up to the release of Shogun 2.
