Oh, and please note that there are only 40 different units in the game. This means there will not be much variety because they wanted to "make it simple". But all is good.

These two things are kind of a turn off for me...although I think they said that "hero" units aren't really that powerful.
Play 'March of Death'. Play it, unless you know a sadder song.
Play something to make your soul weep. If you have one still.

Heroes are just small units of good fighters.Like a monk and his disciples, nothing like a solo character getting around massacring everything thrown at him.

You know what i am thinking? With these kinds of features.... and hoping that it will be moddable (i mean as M2TW moddable, not on ETW level), this would give a nice base for a Star Wars mod.....jussaying

Change that, they already said they are less powerful.

I think everyone keeps complaining about this because it has the name "hero".

The original Shogun also claimed an "AI based on Sun Tzu's Art of War" and it actually did work pretty well. The campaign AI was excellent (it was easier to design for a RISK-style map) and the battle AI was better than in some later TW games. It even ran away whenever prudent.

In 1542 the Portuguese traders brought guns and Christianity, but that's the Muromachi period.
No idea, but the original game ran from 1500 to 1600 (four turns per year).

Actually, heroes are NOT going to be one-man-armies, they will be like general's units because each hero will have disciples.

    - Coastal battles; land and sea battles can be combined. [2]
This is not confirmed, CA still hasn't said whether or not sea and land battles will be merged, the land units on the beach may just be an aesthetic feature.

    Escapist Article,
It's strange that it included ships at sea and soldiers on land because Creative Assembly has repeatedly said that there will be no real time battle interaction between land and sea forces. In any case, we got to see the numerous inlets and rocky coastlines that will play a part in players' sea battles.

    Gamespot,
...while we were shown a battle that had both ships and infantry on the playfield, it's still not clear whether the game will support mixed forces in a single battle.

    they did confirmed it

Several Japanese vessels sit just away from the shore, having landed a number of troops for a seaborne invasion of the province. Here the brand new elements of combining the land and sea is seen in full effect, a first for a Total War game.

    below the 2nd pic

and IGN said the unit cap in battle has been increased from 20 to 30

STWII will support up to 56.000 units in a single battle with a 30 unit cap in stead of the usually 20.
